The plate thickness is typical 1.5mm. Projected weight is roughly 1.3kg, although it will vary depending on plate material, plate style, and top blockers.

do you have a timeline of when this will be expected to run?

The prototype is currently in production; the GB will begin once that arrives and if it is confirmed functional.

Will extra plates be available to purchase separately? Think I might want to be able to switch out between brass and polycarb :D

Most likely yes.

Any chance for a 65% in the future?

Possibly, but it will likely be in the distant future, at least after Polaris ships. I also have a few other designs that I may run beforehand.

Looks great and the price point is VERY attractive. I love the flow of the brass weight.

I will say that I haven't designed any beyond the 60 at this point with the Polaris-style design.
I do have a 65 design in line, along with another 60. I don't have a 75.

Great design!!

In for one for sure, but do stick to a high standard for manufacturing from kbdfans.

I am really hoping for a premium board for this great design (even at a premium price), but if quality can be top-notch who doesn't want to save the $$$!

Not stock; however, I plan to release the plate files and possibly some things related to PCB (Either source or dimensions), which should allow for aftermarket modding to add support.

Is it going to be ~$30+ for a plate as well like the KBD8X buy, or is the $265 shipped including the plate?

It is 265 including plate and all parts necessary to build the board. Extra plates will be an extra fee.

I am so ready for this, price and everything is solid. Only thing that could make it better would be hot-swap, but I understand why that's not possible.

Does anyone know if there's a way to make a PCB like this hot-swappable? Not exactly the most experienced solderer :D

You could install Holtites, which involves more intense soldering.

Honestly just practice on a cheaper board, solder MX switches is probably the easiest thing to do with the right settings and a decent iron/solder.

This doesn't support a standard universal 60% right? Because they are a little thicker than your pcb?

Could you design the pcb with alps-mx holes?

Could you design the pcb with alps-mx holes?

Universal 60%s will not fit, mainly due to USB hole misalignment.
I simplified the PCB to MX only due to the fact that certain alps positions (1.5U stepped caps lock, AEK bottom row, etc) cannot be implemented without conflicts, making the alps compatibility dysfunctional for most keysets.

What material are the foam dampeners going to be made out of?

I cannot disclose the specifics, but it is a vibration damping material.

Just forget the arrow keys already and map them to a layer like a man :-D I also thought I couldn't live without them but then I switched from a TKL to a Preonic overnight, mapped them to Space+IJKL and never looked back.

Now it's actually a nuisance having to move my hand to reach the arrow keys on other boards. Arrow keys in the home row = best thing since sliced bread :)

I know, we're all different. But do try it one day. Just my 2¢.

The thing is that I use too many different keyboards and I need to reduce the difference between them as much as I can and that is one of the tradeoffs I had to do...

Looking forward to the 65% version of this, as I’ve long made peace with the fact that I don’t want to live without arrow keys.

Honestly, thank you for your effort to bring premium features to a wider market. We seriously need the UNIQLO of mechanical keyboards.

I’m in as long as it’s not the same PCB maker as the Tofu RGB hotswap PCB, or that it can at least be ported to QMK. Also, will it have similar stabilizer solution asHineybush’s thin PCB or some other way?
The case ticks all boxes for me though, even the typing angle. And Burgundy. Yes

ai03 made the PCB, I'm like 99.99% sure its QMK compatible.

Really awesome pricepoint dude.

I don't even need another 60 right now but this is incredibly tempting.

Will there be samples of the more specific colors before the buy?

Hard to commit to something like rose gold when you never quite know how it'll turn out.

i believe it's the same factory as other kbdfans boards so i imagine it'll be the same colors

but in fairness i don't think i've seen rose gold from them before

Kailh sockets are easy to solder so I'd like to see Kailh socket pads on all possible switch locations but have sockets:

1. pre-soldered only on common locations or
2. included by not soldered or
3. not included but supported.

This would maximize convenience and flexibility this excellent design can offer.

Will there be samples of the more specific colors before the buy?

Quite a few of the colors are borrowed from KBDfans' usual lineup.
We had a rose gold sample made; it leans a bit closer to the pink-ish side similar to Apple's rose gold coloring.

Will the PCB have underglow lighting or at least the option to attach strips for it?

The PCB does have RGB underglow built-in, although at minimum a polycarbonate bottom is required to take advantage of it.

I’m in as long as it’s not the same PCB maker as the Tofu RGB hotswap PCB, or that it can at least be ported to QMK.
Also, will it have similar stabilizer solution asHineybush’s thin PCB or some other way?

The PCB runs QMK by default.
The stabilizer solution is an adhesive rubber shim which goes between the stabilizer and PCB, similar to the band-aid mod but much more refined.

Kailh sockets are easy to solder so I'd like to see Kailh socket pads on all possible switch locations but have sockets:

Unfortunately, the PCB's high compat means that I had to drop hotswap support. I will likely be open-sourcing the PCB source in case you want to design a single-layout hotswap variant later on.

A good chunk of the colors borrow from stock KBDfans colors; newer KBDfans products will be a nice measure of how the colors will turn out.
We did have a rose gold sample; it leans slightly to the pink-ish side, similar to Apple's rose gold coloring.

Will there be a dedicated HHKB plate so that there won’t be any visible holes in the corners if one chooses the PC case?

Since there's already 216 possible combinations (Roughly 2000 if top/bottom selectable half colors goes through), offering more options would require splitting the product into more and more listings to not break the shop software.
I will be open-sourcing the plate files; I recommend cutting one of your own based on the files if one of the 8 do not fit your needs.

mostly sound, some people say feel but as far as i can tell it's just anecdotal evidence in most cases

Wouldn’t the full plate negate the benefits of the PCB flex slots?

not necessarily, since the flex cut likely also affects sound

What's the benefit of gasket mounting?  (serious question)
The idea is that you should try to separate the plate and the case as much as possible to reduce vibrations.
Some have found that gasket mounting will lead to softer typing and better sound (less ping), but since there are not that many kits with gasket mounting out there, there’s some uncertainty.
This GB will help greatly with confirming the merits of this design.
Also, this will give you easier assembly.

I really like the ideal of adding in foam sheets for going in between the PCB/plate & under the PCB! I hope this catches on & more designers start to do this! In fact this board seems so well though out that I am heavily considering grabbing one even though I need another 60% board like I need a hole in my head, LOL! Seriously though great work here & the renders look amazing ai03! :thumb:

Will there be an assembly service offered? I'm not too comfortable with soldering.

from kbdfans, probably not, but you can always ask on mechmarket
KBDfans has a store page for assembly services, I'm quite certain that would include group buy items as well.

oh **** since when?

that's p cool i had no idea
They've offered assembly for over a year now.

guess i never looked since i do my own

that's neat
Yeah. It seems it's listings for specific products they sell right now, but I'm pretty sure they could come up with a price upon request, since it would still be their own product, lol.

I think they offer service by the size of the keyboard. 60, 65, 80 etc. I just ordered an X8 and they built it for $17.

Thanks  :thumb:

FYI, kbdfans just started selling the E-White version (https://kbdfans.cn/products/in-stocktofu-white-60-aluminum-case) of their Tofu case, and if their product images are to be believed, I think we at least don’t have to worry about that particular color. It looks beautiful.

Closest thing I built is Planck low-profile with Sorbothane strips placed between the plate and case as DIY gasket and, while the sound was very nice and clean, I was more impressed with how 'tight' and 'clean' it felt.

Leave the red for Thermal homie, I feel like this is either a rose gold or white for sure. White for me most likely, WKL for sure, I want to want the rose gold but without actual samples and whatnot I feel it's a little sketchy with how much the term "rose gold" can encompass. Plus their electrophoresis seems real solid from the pictures I've seen lately.

Will there be any alternative colours/materials for the weight?

Unfortunately, there isn't much that competes price-wise with clear coated brass. After thinking over possible options (stainless, cerakoted brass, etc.) and their cost, it was decided to run a single weight option.

E white is electrophoresis I believe? Does anyone know what  the finish is like ? Is it easily dirtied and scratched ?

It's a matte white. Some KBDfans boards have it, such as the recently stocked e-white Tofu. I'd assume it'd be a typical matte white surface, in that it won't hide any grime.

There is any limitation on the number of boards that will be made? My only fear is that I miss the cutout, if there is any, especially since there is so much interest in this.

The group buy is unlimited, so as long as you don't miss the GB period, you should be fine.

Though I’m guessing they’ll make samples available of all the colors before the GB, or at least right at the start of it.

Thought about it, but it would make price skyrocket so had to cancel.
As for PVD, I've never been super impressed by KBDfans' PVD quality, so decided to play it safe with matte + clear coat.

render of rose gold?

There's some floating around, but right now Kevinplus (The other person behind this project) is waiting on ano samples for more color-accurate renders.

There is no HHKB plate, just WKL and Universal in terms of general compatibility. Your combination of plate and case top half will depend on what blockers you want, and what layout you want within the constraints of your chosen case top.

Will there be a configurator for the layout to generate the firmware file?  I'm assuming the PCB will use QMK.

Likely, but I'll need to verify with KBDfans that it's fine before it runs, since it's quite a bit more effort logistics-side.

Will silver be available? Or is it too unpopular?

Going by KBD8X MKII sales, silver proved too unpopular to be worth over e-white.

Will there be a configurator for the layout to generate the firmware file?  I'm assuming the PCB will use QMK.

I'm currently working on QMK for Polaris as I type this message; I'll definitely make it compatible with some GUI-based programming tool, whether it be configurator or VIA (depends on whether or not VIA is finished by the time Polaris ships).

VIA is a GUI overlay based on QMK that OliVIA (and others?) have put together - so it makes it super easy to remap keys etc. I don't think it's a must-have for me, but it is super nice for sure.

Thanks for the explanation. Went googling it too. Kept popping ride share stuff but I guess that was just me not typing the right keyword combo. Found a video by Merlin. VIA does seem to make the key mapping look easier.

I asked about aluminum in Discord, and was told "no" due to logistics and splitting order quantity. I'm sure they will supply the plate files like with the 8X, in which case you can get an aluminum plate made very affordably (at least in the USA) by https://sendcutsend.com

They offer plates in 1.6mm, but isn't that too thick? Seems like the stabs would bottom out on the plate unless the plate was routed for them. Still pretty affordable though.

Edit: looks like 1.6 is within tolerance.

Judging from the expanded pic in OP (https://i.imgur.com/gVWQUwR.jpg), it is different.
Similar to 356mini, GSKT uses a rubber o-ring/band that sits between the plate and the PCB

I've tried looking around a bit and have mostly only found a couple images of full builds and a billion instances of forum signatures containing the board's name, but do you have a link handy (to something other than a video) that shows the gasket mounting on the GSKT-00 for folks to compare?

To be fair, I can see how the 365 mini's plate mounting arrangement could be considered "true" gasket mounting in the sense that it was the first to be referred to as such. As far as I know the GSKT's notable for being the only modern board that's so far taken a similar approach.

Not that semantic arguments over the term are worth anything... People need something to discuss while they wait for details on this board, I guess.

the 356N was the first gasket mounted board, so it's not like people really have proper information on this stuff in the first place

and the g00skt also uses a lower duro than the 356mini, and carterh and weaston are quick to point out that it's not meant to be exact in terms of feel

but im willing to bet that i'm one of very few people who have typed on all 3 of those boards in the first place, so really who the **** cares

the polaris is gonna be lit, it's gonna be cheap, and i'm willing to bet it's gonna be a lot of people's first custom

i like this board and there are decent odds i buy one

That makes sense and is good to know. I wasn't trying to seem authoritative on the matter myself so much as playing devil's advocate on how the GSKT talk might be relevant.

It seems like a shame that information on the design of customs isn't being better collected somehow. In five or ten years will details on boards like this seem like the same kind of arcane knowledge that only future Puddsys will recollect? (I know OTD stuff is actually relatively well documented and doesn't make for the best example, but still)

"Gasket" is so vague of a term at this point that any keyboard with some non-plastic/metal material could claim to be gasket mount.

Carter never confirmed a damn thing about the durometer of the 00 gasket.  You claimed to have some sort of sixth sense bull**** and could tell the durometer off the surface finish of it, which is laughable at best.

Just keyboards!? How else am I supposed to project my perfect 100IQ and pretentious facts and logic if not through custom keyboards?

i know this is a meme but every hobby has people like that

if i have to read one more forum thread about how a nitro finish actually changes the sound of a guitar in a way that's not microtonally different i'm gonna quit hobbies entirely

but yeah i'll stop mining salt when it stops being fun
I respect that lol.
People are too opinionated when it comes to hobbies.

to be fair i used to be that way so i kinda get it

then i realized getting physically upset over anything anyone says on the internet is a huge waste of time and energy

big part of why i've been so much more active here is that i quit all social media so i have a lot more free time online

Carter never confirmed a damn thing about the durometer of the 00 gasket.  You claimed to have some sort of sixth sense bull**** and could tell the durometer off the surface finish of it, which is laughable at best.

Oh no you broke puddsy he didn't even reply anymore :(

Nah I was asleep and I don't care enough to use gh on my phone

I just wanted to see how salty I could make him, I totally have no idea of it's a different duro.

When I had a mini it didn't flex like the g00skt does (and feels totally different, I add) so I figured it was different but it might not be.

FWIW the alu plate g00 I tried at a meetup didn't flex at all.

Just waiting for the prototype to finish anodizing at this point.
Once it's confirmed that it assembles properly, it'll be ready for GB.

or even a render with GMK wavez or nautilus nightmares ?

Been wanting a green board for a long time, but green is such a hard color to get right in anodizing !!!

No gasket mounts are squishy really, they are noticeable, but you won’t be surprised and it won’t change your life.

Welcome to the community! I think you are making a great choice with this keeb as your first custom. While I personally consider myself to be the #1 guru of all things involving keyboards, I would suggest you peep the GH irc channel. I own more than one gasket mount board, and I've typed on several more. There's no reason it couldn't be squishy -- that's up to the designer.

Cutting little tiny bits of rubber over screw holes on a top mount or sandwich mount board doesn't make it a gasket mount.

TLDR about whether a board is true Gasket or not:

Quote
You, like other "Gasket Experts" here, are just really dumb. I'm not saying the outcome is perfect, but I already explained the process and how we got here. The mistake was that you assumed that all gasket mounts are the same beforehand, when that is far from the truth. Second time I said this, god Puddsy you are dumb.

Also the ****ing durometer, I can choose any gasket and compare with a my 365 mini and they can feel very different from each other.

I couldn't tell you, it was just a question. The reason I asked is because in the 356 build video I watched the gasket was visibly squishy, but I don't know what it's like when it's all screwed down.

Imagine getting defensive over someone asking a question and then trying to defend their right to ask a damn question.

I'm really interested in this group buy but my question is in regards to the PCB. It seems like this keyboard will only fit the PCB it comes with due to the measurement of it. Let's just say the PCB would fail at any point, would I have trouble finding a replacement in the future?

I will likely be open-sourcing the PCB at some point. From the data, it should be possible to either recreate it 1:1 or modify it to whatever future standards exist at that point in the future.

Even if I have a custom Plate made? Is it just that this wants a PCB or 1.2mm thick I think it said and a boardwalk PCB is going to be thicker? Or are there other reasons it won’t fit? It also uses gaskets which add to the thickness... what if I removed a gasket. Basically is there anyway I can hack this case into working? I need a 60% white HHkB case for my boardwalk and they aren’t exactly easy to find. So I’m ready to do some modding.

Basically can anyone tell me exactly why a boardwalk PVB can’t fit in this case instead of just No.

It wouldn't fit by default, but you could "hack" it and it'd probably work at some point. Depends how badly you want it I suppose.

I am open to suggestions. I’m new here and don’t know where to look or really what to look for. I’d rather something quality though over cheap.

The hole for the usb-connector is at a different location than the connector of the boardwalk pcb. You need a case that is complatible with standard 60% pcbs.

So this won’t fit a boardwalk PCB?
No

Sent from my SM-G975F using Tapatalk

Even if I have a custom Plate made? Is it just that this wants a PCB or 1.2mm thick I think it said and a boardwalk PCB is going to be thicker? Or are there other reasons it won’t fit? It also uses gaskets which add to the thickness... what if I removed a gasket. Basically is there anyway I can hack this case into working? I need a 60% white HHkB case for my boardwalk and they aren’t exactly easy to find. So I’m ready to do some modding.

Basically can anyone tell me exactly why a boardwalk PVB can’t fit in this case instead of just No.
Have you considered the Sirius pom board?
store.projectkeyboard.com/collections/sirius (http://store.projectkeyboard.com/collections/sirius)

You can get a white hhkb board that way and it will fit the boardwalk pcb. Pom is a pretty neat plastic and actually makes the board have a very pleasant sound profile. Top Clack did a typing test of you want to look at it.

I will be open sourcing the PCB and plate files later on, if anyone wants to adapt a PCB or make one of their own to fit into the Polaris.
Third party PCBs will likely not drop in without adjustments due to the exact positioning of the USB Type-C connector and the matching cutout on the case.

Yeah I might as well just post here too since others have mentioned it. The Boardwalk PCB will not fit because the USB cutout is very precise and the 1.2mm PCB raises the port by 0.4mm. I will be designing a Polaris-specific Boardwalk with hot swap sockets and will mimic the Polaris’ cut-out in the middle of the PCB. I’ll also be producing plates.

I will only be making a PCB to support my preferred layouts though (HHKB and WKL 7u). If you’re interested in this, let me know. I’ll be hand soldering these PCBs due to low volume so there won’t be many but it is happening. I’m currently working on a few other keeb projects right now but I uh... might have accidentally  finished the layout of the new PCB already.

Ai03, this is all possible thanks to you. Kudos!

Hey, a question on the Red Ano.

Do you anticipate the final real-life anodize to look similar to the rendering? Just curious cuz in the render, it looks like a slightly burnt/muted red. Was this your specific intention or just a render side effect? If you have any actual ano swatches you could post of the desired colors, that would be awesome!

I kinda love the idea of keeping multiple PCB to use with one (great) case. Seems more... financially-conscious than buying multiple separate keyboards :)
Yeah if you ever plan to run that (small?) GB, I’m in.

Kbdfans will handle the production, so I suspect it will be more of a burgundy red, similar to their current Tofu case (https://kbdfans.cn/products/coming-soon-kbd67-mechanical-keyboard-diy-kit):

Thoughts ai?

why would you do both relief cuts and hotswap sockets? Wouldn't any added flex from the relief cuts will be eliminated by the rigidity of the sockets?

I think I'll stick to MX-only for the official GB; if anyone wants to run compat for other types of switches, I'll leave it up to third parties.

Subjective, PC generally sounds deeper and "thockier". Alu sounds more high pitched and "clear".

To be absolutely honest, I discourage people from buying the poly case option.

I designed the board around aluminum levels of structural integrity; the lid has thin portions where it is sandwiched between the top and the weight.
We will be testing a poly lid to make sure it achieves the required levels of durability, but it is undeniable that it will be weaker than aluminum.
Polycarbonate threads are far more prone to stripping from overtightening screws, and the material scratches far easier.
The absolute mess of gaskets and foam on the interior will be visible.
Poly is known to yellow due to exposure to UV light. After many years, the board that was paid premium for may not look too pretty.

Anodized aluminum is much more durable and cheaper.
Sound-wise, with the plate fully isolated from the case via vibration-damping gaskets and the multiple foam midlayers, even aluminum won't sound cripplingly awful.

But then again, it is the buyer's choice, so as long as things reach the required durability, both options will be offered.
On the flipside, polycarbonate plates are a very nice option.

Because polycarb was an afterthought. He designed it for aluminum. Sounds like after he finalized the design, people asked for PC and they're obliging the request, but not changing the design.

No, because the PCB is thinner than normal PCBs so the USB plug would not fit the cutout if you use a standard 60% PCB. Also, the stock PCB includes relief cuts to provide additional flex.

For WKL/HHKB split space, the bottom row will be limited to these layouts.

I can't say they're the most aesthetically pleasing layouts, but I guess they work physically.

Looks really good! Any chances of colour samples for each option? Want to pick up a purple or blue polaris but need it to be quite dark.

I would assume it's the same ano colors as on other KBDFans boards, which are not dark at all. See examples on the KBD8x MkII group buy page: https://kbdfans.cn/products/coming-soon-kbd8x-mkii-custom-mechanical-keyboard-kit

FYI, with that second layout, you essentially just solved one of the main reasons why people can’t switch to the HHKB layout: The lack of arrow keys.
Sure, it’s not 100% aesthetically pleasing, but it’s 90% there, and I think most will be fine with that.
I for one know that’ll be my preferred layout.

Well, why switch to HHKB layout if not for the aesthetics and also the functionality of it's key mapping? Going with an un-aesthetically pleasing and limiting (for some) layout is the worst idea for something that costs this much (or any custom for that matter).

Also how are you planning to keymap a split space HHKB layout for those arrow keys?

See those four keys on the right? The T shape?
Yep.
I assume there wills still be a split right shift. If not, we can always remap the Caps Lock key. Easy.
Re. the aesthetic, well for me it’s the blockers on either sides that form the HHKB aesthetic. If I can have that AND arrow keys, I’m game to compromise a bit.
Yes, I need the arrow keys. I use my keyboard for more than just typing.
Fn + HJKL is fine until you need to hit combos like Fn + Shift + Alt + HJKL, then you start to run into hand twisting problems.
And nobody is forcing you to use that layout. Just leave it as an option for people who don’t mind it.

I feel like people undervalue using WASD or IJKL for arrow keys. Not having to move my hands to use arrows has been such a great benefit.

KBDfans just started selling E-Yellow Tofu so maybe that's why. Hope E-Yellow Polaris doesn't cost extra like Tofu version.

Anodizing and E-coating are two different ways of surface finish so there's different costs for doing that. Possibly fail rates or smth. Polaris has a great price anyway so paying extra for an E-coated one would still be worth it more than paying extra for a Tofu (not a bad starter board, no offence).

PC still? Even after this post from OP?

To be honest, maybe. Will depend a bit on the prototype feedback and stuff. I kinda really like the idea of PC, and don't have any boards in PC. But i'm ok, still plenty of time to decide, but I definitely prefer to hear all the info before deciding.

And there are a few points actually.
"PC is weaker than alu.", well.. ain't that expected since its plastic vs alu?
"Mess of gasket will be visible.". Don't think I mind that. Will try to research a bit, but I really think I'm ok with it.
"PC will yellow with time". Wasn't exactly expecting this, but I do have a bit yellowed hhkb, and don't mind that much as well.

But with all of this. Still am thinking :)

I will be receiving the prototypes to display at Maker Faire Tokyo on 8/3 along with samples of the SimpleJA keyset.
The prototypes will be examined prior to presentation, so by the time of the event, GB should be ready to begin.

Electrophoresis is more durable than anodization (in both mechanical and chemical aspects).

Very likely black.

Also, prototypes have been shipped out. Once they arrive, I will test and finalize options for GB.

I don't plan on using the Polaris PCB though, I will be cutting my own plates and designing my own PCB for this case, so the plate is useless to me.  That's why it would be really nice to save on some cost.

For what reason would I choose a WKL/Tsangen plate over a Universal one?

I think its just a cleaner plate with the WKL/HHKB plate.  Universal plates have a lot more cuts and openings for compatibility.

He did say he was realeasing the plate files before they ship out so that actually would be a good choice if you plan on making your own plate.

I definitely agree about seeing real sample for color, especially in regard to something so variable and subtle as rose gold.  Displaying the color as it's displayed is pretty meaningless, since a color code means nothing unless it's been selected by someone using a calibrated monitor and then viewed by someone who also has a calibrated monitor.  Otherwise, it's just data that every monitor will pretty much display differently.

If the colors are the same as other KBDFans keyboards, then that reference is fine, but there's no indication of this.  Besides, I've seen something like purple anodization look very different on different KBDFans keyboards.  And, as far as rose gold goes, there isn't any other KBDFans KB to use as reference anyway, as far as I know.

I realize it's early in the GB, but, if I decide on rose gold, for example, I'd need to see something more accurate before joining.  Of course, the same thing about color calibration goes for a photo, but at least it represents an anodized surface batter than a color code does.

I'm planning to get a white Tsangan MX kit, but I'd like to try some brown Alps on it as well.

I'm pretty sure you have to get a black for GMK 8008, a rose gold for SA Bliss, and e-white for GMK Cafe. Not positive, but I think that's the only option.

**You're lucky that the e-white will also go with KAT Milkshake when you buy that.

Clear PVD, so it won't tarnish unless you scrape the PVD surface off

I didn't expect you to spend thousands of dollars... but I did think that maybe the factory would provide small anodization samples for your confirmation, and I though those might be shared with as, as sometimes happens with other KB group buys... at least for something like rose gold, which is new for KBDFans.

My point was that unless we're talking about a color managed environment with calibrated monitors, an HTML color code will look different on my my monitor, your monitor, the factory's monitor, other buyers' monitors.  It's why so many people end up unhappy about keyset and KB colors, because an HTML color code means nothing until a monitor interprets it, and there's no consistency between uncalibrated monitors.

I'm not trying to be argumentative or single you out for something that's done far from optimally in most cases, but an HTML color code for pink has little relation to what the finished, anodized color will look like.  As I said, I thought you might show a photo of an small anodization sample for rose gold, since there aren't any other KBDFans keyboard of that color for reference.

I also don't expect you to do anything differently on my account.  I was just wondering if there would be anodization samples.  Not to be argumentative, but because it determines whether I'd buy a rose gold KB or not.

Quite a big difference and one that will decide if I go for this colour. No digs at anyone, just curious.
