Someone just dug up this jewel at a computer store for $10. Looks like a cross between a 1391401 and an Endurapro. What is it and what's the history?

It's a black Model M13 (the label on the back would tell you that much)

Quote
* Part number 13H6705 was an all black M13, the only black IBM Model M. At one point it was quite rare on the second-hard market and commanded a high premium on eBay (often around $200) as of late, it is more common and cheaper. The lettering on the keys is pad printed as opposed to the dye sublimation technique used for other Model Ms, meaning that the letters are more prone to wear than regular Model Ms are. Earlier examples were made by Lexmark from about 1994, whereas later examples were made by Maxiswitch as late as 1998 or 1999. There does not appear to be any difference between examples made by the two manufacturers.

Unlike the Endurapro, they use the real IBM Trackpoint II

Do you need me to watermark any of your pics in the IBM wiki?

I dont think it would be unreasonable for Ripster to swap keycaps such that one row does in fact spell out "RIPSTER" for all future photos.

Serious suggestion, beats the hell out of watermarking. Would need an extra donor R of course.

Make a GeekGirl tshirt for a lego minifig and include it in each photo.

I think this beats Kishy's $12 Black M13... ;-)

Lucky sod. Nice find. I had to pay £75 for mine... :-(

Must go and troll round 2nd hand shops on my day off tomorrow.

Got one mine for a similar price, but was worse for wear.  Had to part it out though.

Nice find.

Worst keyboard ever? For me the one that I punched with my fist this week and that is now in the garbage pail and the reason why I registered on this forum.
