Title: Wrist Rest Recommendations
Post by: mikyo on Wed, 08 May 2019, 19:30:50
I'm looking to get a nice wrist rest for my new 60%, something that has some dark colored wood. Not very educated on wrist rests so I need some help.

"Not very educated on wrist rests"

I thought that from an ergonomics perspective, these are bad things. If you're using a wrist rest, you're also angling your hands up which is going to increase the risk of carpal tunnel.

I love big fat gel rests as a place to rest the hands while reading or thinking.

Unfortunately they always look shabby after a couple of years.

3M makes some nice gel ones.  They're covered in a pretty hard-wearing textured black vinyl.  I've had one in my office for years, and it still looks like new.  I don't know if they make one as narrow as a 60%, but it might work for both a keyboard and a mouse.  They make a 2' wide version that's made to be used with a full-size keyboard and a mouse.  That thing's huge.
