A few guides on the internet for Cherry MX tops but not for tops like kailh. Suggestions?

Mate, I don't think any of these are easy.

The easy thing to do is buy a decent keyboard that's good to go as is.
I recommend Leopold (specifically the FC980M model for MX or FC980C for topre), good keycaps, good build quality and affordable, mainly the MX versions, topre anything tends to be overpriced.
Then the only question you have to ask is to yourself and that is, 'How many of these do I realistically need to buy?'
I would say at least 3.

If you have decently long/strong fingernails, it is possible to open them with just those. Takes some time/pain to get into the rhythm of it, though.

Yeah I want something like this. I know there are cheaper MX versions, but want a cheaper Kailh version. Just haven't seen it.

I just got an email that the Nutcracker V2 group buy has gone live. Also got a 10% discount code as a previous customer. I don't need another opener, so I'm happy to give my code to the first person to PM me.

You really don't need a specialized tool. Any sort of thin metal pry tool can do the job. Just loosen one side and then go and do the other. I've done enough that it only takes me a few seconds per switch now, and again that's without some sort of specialized tool.
