Oh I mean current California time. Adjusted thank you. It’s PDT now. I think the conversions still work though. Please verify for yourself. Thank you!

Oh I mean California time.
This ain't a judgment on you, but I feel like we should just set a rule in this board that times should be communicated in GMT (or some other arbitrary time zone) just for clarity's sake

(for the record I think you've been doing a fantastic job running your ICs and this GB so far, keep up the great work)

Just out of curiosity, is there a qmk layout lurking around for this already?

No it should be just a little bit longer. Also it screws in from the inside of the case.

I'm using google form add-ons to open the form at the appointed time and to close after the appointed number of entries.
Let's hope this works...

I'll take orders for extra PCBs and plates after the GB entrants are determined.

I'll be posting updates here in this thread regularly.

Everyone has 24 hours to pay.

Any re-raf for unpaids?
Yes.
If you didn't get in, ping me on discord with your email and plate preference.
That's not a guarantee that you'll get a spot. I'm going to respond with a number. That's your raffle number if there are unpaid invoices.

Invoices are out. If you selected both carbon fiber and polycarb on the form, your invoice says "carbon fiber plate," but I'll be taking orders for extra plates and PCB's soon.
I'm just making the initial buy as simple as possible, in case people don't pay or change their mind.

BTW I put "email" twice in the form because I've messed up on inputting my email in artisan raffles and felt so bad afterward.

When you're on your homepage, there should be a search bar thing on the top left near the discord icon. It will say "Find or start a conversation". Simply input the user ID of the person you would like to message.

Waiting on a couple people with extenuating circumstances, but it looks like all invoices will be paid today.
For everyone interested in following this project on Discord, I made a server here: https://discord.gg/zz3GkM (https://discord.gg/zz3GkM)
But I don’t like keeping updates in Discord because they can get lost in chat, and even pinned messages get missed. Forum format is kind of easier to follow as a timeline, so if I post updates in the Discord server it will likely also get posted here.
Picture uploads are just easier from my phone on Discord.

I hope our conversation on Discord was a case of “lost in translation,” and not a case of you insulting me while asking me for something.
The files are open source here on geekhack, posted by Yuktsi himself.
There are other options that already exist, including the Lubrigante, projectkeyboard, and others.
I am also still working on another project in this form factor that you might have liked if I didn’t ban you for what I took to be an insult. The project will not be in such small numbers but will still maintain high quality standards.
I’ll post details in an IC thread in this coming week about that particular project. Please wait til then.

I appreciate everyone’s support for this project. My interactions with most have been pleasant and cordial.
As some are already aware, I had an unexpected death in the family. I’m still waiting on details and may take longer to respond than normal the next few days. But I will get to you with answers if you hit me up. Response just might be delayed.

Please rest assured that this is not me saying I’m dipping out or even taking a break from anything. I’m still around. I’m still reachable. I’ll still give updates on this and other projects.

There will be the uhmw alice, which imo is a greater material for keyboards than polycarbonate which is set to run after this preliminary batch of pc Alice's are out, around early september.

These are scheduled to ship in September. I will do my best to stay true to that. Extras may be available after GB-participants get their boards. The priority will be to replace any defective cases with A-stock from the extras, so participants don't have to wait.

Ok, so...this is what I put up on Discord just now...

I've been in a really weird place with work for a bit now. I've been up for promotion at work, working extra, and trying to make things livable, but today I finally got word:

I got the promotion, but the salary offer is.... not enough to really live on. I honestly thought it would be worth it to continue this job and do the keyboard business at the same time, but it really doesn't make sense  to stay in a job that takes up so much of my time, is physically and emotionally exhausting, and inhibits from realizing my real passion and what I know I can accomplish.
What makes sense to me is to just go full-bore with keyboards.
What does this mean for you guys?  What is my projected timeline?
Well, here it is so far....
I'll be speeding up the timeline on all current and upcoming projects.
Rukia will ship in September.
October will be a month-long campaign to get the final funds for manufacturing equipment.
By November, I'll be manufacturing Irma and two other boards--a 65% and a 75%--all in UHMW.
Those boards and all future boards will be available on my website on a made-to-order basis.
That means by December, before 2020, UHMW will be a reality in the community in regards to cases.
2020 will be the year of indestructible cases and lube-less switches.

This GB ended a few months ago - they’re shipping soon, so you may be able to get one off the aftermarket.

Alternatively, the POM/UHMW Alice should be selling somewhat soon. It’s a different plastic, but I think Jaxx is planning to sell unlimited copies of them.

Will there be ever r2 or nah?

I've gotten MANY requests for extras or a round 2.
UHMW is the next iteration, hopefully by the end of January.
But even knowing this, some still prefer polycarb.
I have that in mind, however, I haven't run an IC for R2 polycarb Rukia because I haven't yet fully delivered R1 and made sure that buyers from R1 are satisfied.
More important than that is if Yuktsi plans to run polycarb Alice. If so, I won't do another polycarb run at all. I'll be joining the real TGR GB.

If I run a R2 for polycarb it will be a group buy format in January. Lead time from the manufacturer will be 45 days. Delivery from me will be much more streamlined, learning what I did through this first GB.

For UHMW boards, I am about to launch a website for orders. At the end of January, I will have made enough injection molded "blanks" that you can order online and pick out your customization options. Orders will be fulfilled "made to order" this way, and I'm shooting for a turnaround of 1 week or less at first.
Online "in stock" availability will open and closed based on that turnaround. So if the website says "out of stock," I've reached my max capability to meet that timeline.

I'll announce in this thread and on Discord when the site is ready to launch and how many boards will be available for the first group of orders to test out how many I can turn out in a week.

Oh didn't expect a R2 to be this soon awesome. In my opinion you don't need to cancel the poly carbonate version if yutski runs Alice R2 poly carbonate because the demand will be so high that like probably 1/50 will probably get a GB spot. So having two options for more chance to get a poly carbonate Alice would be nice.

Also is there a discord link to join the discord server?

Edit: Found it nvm

For Rukia R2, is it possible to offer alternate colors of PC for the case? Even a simple black might be nice for a choice, but translucent blue or purple would work super well for gmk vaporwave imo, and I'd personally pay extra for that.

A surprising amount of my day is spent answering messages about Round 2 of Rukia. This form is to get firm numbers on interest, not promise anything. My priority is finishing delivery of Round 1, getting UHMW production up and running, and making sure that my supply chain/logistics issues are fixed and as smooth as possible for upcoming projects.
Please fill this out. All ideas and critiques are welcome.
https://forms.gle/pE5PV8xDtxErkwuu9

Please understand that if I do an aluminum version of what is essentially an Alice clone (if aluminum is what wins out), I would want to offer something that is not easily available through Yuktsi or anyone else (examples: damascus steel weight, acid etched design all over top case, etc.)
Also, anything I make for the next round, if it happens, would be compatible with round 1 Rukia. Example: aluminum top would fit polycarb bottom for half poly build.

Also, please understand, if there is not enough interest, this is really not worth doing. GBs are hard. This is not my brain child--it's Yuktsi's with a twist. I'm working day and night on bringing UHMW to the community. And I'd like as much as possible to break free from the GB format. I much prefer selling in stock products.
I'm not saying it won't ever happen if replies are low, but if they are, it won't be anytime soon.

I highly doubt you'll have insufficient response to run an aluminum GB. In fact, you'll be overwhelmed.

Make this post more public by doing an IC for Rukia R2. Create a new thread. See those interested skyrocket.

At 0000 GMT, I'll be posting a link for entry into the Rukia LE, called "The Child."
That's about 2 hours from now.
The link is for a 17-question Star Wars quiz.
Those who get 100% on the quiz (unlimited entry per email), will be emailed a scavenger hunt item.
The first 10 to reply to that email with a picture of themselves and the item or a timestamp (handwritten date + username/email) and the item will be sent the order form for the Rukia LE full green polycarb with Baby Yoda weight *shhhh.
Renders and pricing will be made known to the winners. They are free, however, to share as they wish.

Has anyone been able to remove the weight on this thing? Mine is totally stuck, and I’ve got water trapped underneath:

https://imgshare.io/image/d6367515-4a91-493f-a868-3d4604ef652d.NJ0Ufl

I’m afraid to pry it out to damage the polycarbonate. I’ve also tried “tapping” it out with a hammer and punch but don’t want to hammer too hard.
