Title: Stumbled across a nail video today.

Dis' person were removing the cuticle on the nail, and Tp4 were like, / don't we need those ?

Never realized this was a thing..

Just from the engineering perspective, the cuticle is clearly an extra water/dirt seal of sorts, kind of like when you put a spoosh of silicone on outdoor nails/ screws no ?

Always assumed that this was being shaped, but didn't know the extent.

thats a part of manicure, usually people do that for cleaner looking finish.
