Title: [IC]SA 128K for Ae (with Korean and Japanese Alphas) coming soon

This IC is a continuation of the previous SA 128K keyset design.
Inspired by Adobe Bridge and After Effects software's colors and chitsheet icons,
I hope to make a simple colored and practical keyset (only a base kit for each theme).

And I added Korean alphas in Br set and Japanese かな入力 fonts in Ae set.
If you are a Krean or Japanese IME user, please let me know how do you think about the alphas.

I'll ask SP for a price about the new alphas ,if they are too high, maybe I should consider some other plan such as only ordinary alphas.

Post by: equalunique on Sun, 02 June 2019, 11:18:37: I have been looking for a key set that I could put on my Filco 91-key JIS board. The alphas and sublegends on this would match perfectly.

In the pic below, you can see both the original keycaps and the SA doubleshot ABS keycaps that SP manufactured for Filco. Adding these 4 keys to your Japanese set would allow JIS Filco users to use it 100%. :)

I like the side legends. Idk if they will end up being cost-effective, but they definitely make the set more interesting, both in terms of aesthetics and function.

They don't make a ton of sense compared to what they did with SA 128k (128k was a photoshop/AI set, so that would make sense to have side printed legends). Would prefer not having them (looks too cluttered when you already have japanese sub-legends). I think you should either choose Latin main-legend + Japanese sub-legend, or Latin main-legend + Side printed legend. Having them all three together looks really heavy.

That is a Photos or files ranking bottom. You know Bridge is a browsing software for adobe files. you can rank the your favourate photos with 5 stars.

Good catch for the r2 backspace for hhkb layouts. Yes, please add this for those that have hhkb layout. Good job so far making separate kits for more options. :thumb:

That's expensive than I though , I made a Mac kit for the AI and PS sets, but failed finally during the group-buy.

How about moving R2 PgUp and R3 PgDn to R3 and R4 respectively, or adding R4 End for 65 and 75 support?

And for Korean sub-legend, it might look better without doubled vowel and consonant like ㅃㅉㄸㄲ ㅑㅒㅖ in my opinion.

I got the price from SP,
the Korean and Japanese alphas are very expensive than I thought.
It seems hard to reach the higher MOQ for Korean alphas and Japanese alphas, but I don't want to give them up.

I'm planning to run Ae set only this time with both Korean alphas and Japanese alphas, you can chose which additional alphas you like.

If Korean sublegends require additional molding cost, could possibly consider just the Japanese sublegends to keep cost down since you can recycle the same molds from the recent SA Laser drop. Can't recall if I have seen any SA set with Korean sublegends before. Feels like for something that needs new mold, you need Massdrop in order to pull it off.

It's $50 for each new legend with a Korean symbol so it should work out if the GB sells 100~200 alpha kits, adding $10 or so to each kit. As for the Alphas with Japanese symbols, I guess it's impossible to get Mito's permission to use the SA Laser legends. Besides, given the unpleasant history between Hoq and Massdrop(Drop now), it's impossible for Hoq to work with Massdrop, again. As I know Hoq will run this GB by himself.

If Korean sublegends require additional molding cost, could possibly consider just the Japanese sublegends to keep cost down since you can recycle the same molds from the recent SA Laser drop. Can't recall if I have seen any SA set with Korean sublegends before. Feels like for something that needs new mold, you need Massdrop in order to pull it off.

It's $50 for each new legend with a Korean symbol so it should work out if the GB sells 100~200 alpha kits, adding $10 or so to each kit. As for the Alphas with Japanese symbols, I guess it's impossible to get Mito's permission to use the SA Laser legends. Besides, given the unpleasant history between Hoq and Massdrop(Drop now), it's impossible for Hoq to work with Massdrop, again. As I know Hoq will run this GB by himself.

The Japanese alphas will be made with my design not the same with any other's design, the legends and fonts are not quite the same, the molds will be newly design and made by SP.
Maybe you are not quite formiliar with Japanese and Japanese かな入力 keyboard layout,
For MD's Japanese alphas, they look good and cool for non-Japanese users, but not quite good for Japanese people and JIS keyboard users.
I don't think I need their permission .

I love YBP yellow color very much, I have got some samples and tried to made some novelites with YBP color, they look awesome.

I'd also appreciate the inverted color mod kit (dark purple keys with light purple legends) and if you consider doing that then perhaps it may also make sense to have the accent keys inverted (pink keys with dark purple legends).

The basic concept of this series is to use the unified light color for all the keys, so I chose light purple color, just like the PS and AI sets' way. I hope to continue this design idea.
And, adding a dark purple modifier is not impossible, but it will increase the cost, and there have been many SA keysets has the same dark color modifiers, such as SA Grand Budapest, TM, Pluse's purple kits, Round 6, etc. ;D
