Title: One Year Anniversary of Microsoft Windows's Last Login
Post by: Kavik on Thu, 13 June 2019, 14:46:08
After a long dormant period, Microsoft Windows made a comeback last spring with some humorous posts encouraging people to upgrade to Windows 95 and then disappeared again into the ether.

Will we ever see him again?

Welll.. the main takedown for old' peeps these days is diabetus and heart disease.  Either one will make someone quite lethargic.

I suspect given his age, the light may be running low due to such common afflictions..

Mod Edit: Fixed the text size for you

Let's hope not.

Also, I have a sneaky suspicion he didn't leave voluntarily, but like Betelgeuse now that you said his name he'll probably return, he's GH's version of herpes, he never goes away for good.
I should have perma banned him when I had the chance.

tp carries on the styling legacy. Just needs to change his teal for blue and write in all caps.

First post was here (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=6291.msg97433#msg97433).

Years before most of us even knew GH existed.

Many of his original posts were instructive and/or informative.  In later years he (he? she?) decided to follow a certain theme.  Who are we to criticise it.

What is the appropriate personal pronoun for an anthropomorphic personification of an operating system?

I, for one, thought his spam was rather funny, but I suppose there's already enough of it on the site to last us a good while.

Two things were always guaranteed replies to any thread: eat only veggies and switch to Window 98 and IE6. It just felt like part of the GH experience.
