Title: Cigars?
Post by: izzypizzy on Fri, 28 May 2010, 01:31:45
I didn't see any topic about cigars..

I know smoking around keyboards, at least any keyboards worth a damn is a big no-no! But I'm sure there are plenty here who enjoy a good cigar?

I'm smoking a Don Pepin Garcia blue label atm, decent cigar, not his best, but I do love his blends. Some of my favorites are Padilla, Padron, Tatuaje, etc.. I generally prefer Maduro (darker) wrappers over the light ones, I enjoy a full body, full flavor cigar. I don't like cigars with too big of a ring gauge, nothing over 50.

I don't smoke too often, at most twice a week, usually less, but it's a nice way to relax, especially with a good glass of rum and a good movie to watch.

So how bout it?! Any other cigar smokers?

I smoke a small filtered cigar and have done so for about 28 years. They are very weak and cheap but they got me off of cigarettes back then. You smoke a real cigar and I don't really like them myself but I don't drink either. I try to find the pipe-aroma kind when I can as even non-smokers tell me they smell good. I'm very careful around my keyboards...especially the $170 Deck.

I'm a cigar smoker, but I don't get much chance any more. My daughters (9 & 11) don't know about that particular vice yet, so I can't sit on the back porch and smoke like I could when they were babies and went to bed at 7pm!

My favorite is the Partagas #10, although I'll smoke any buck-a-stick rope if it has a lot of flavor!

As far as smoking at your keyboard: back in the day I used to smoke at my desk at work. That was awesome...

After 28 years, I'd expect it to be weak. and short.

Where was everyone back a few weeks ago when I was looking for cigar advice and Cubans were at hand?  We did get a chance to try some Maduro Partagas, but even 90 miles from Cuba they were still expensive..............later

Learned a new drink while down South, called a Caprihana (?), sugar cane rum with mushed lime and sugar.  Not as sweet as it sounds, and everything becomes VERY peaceful after a couple ;)

Otherwise, just give me Tequila.........

Mojitos, like Margaritas, are hit-and-miss.  Most people just don't want to put in the effort to make them right.
Also, try the Captain 100 proof, much smoother than the Private Reserve.......

It's always five o'clock somewhere :)

After all, with a three day weekend baring down on us, we must submit to the call to chill for a few days, so without further discussion...........everyone have a great weekend and be safe................Later

I drink the rum and skip the cigar.

English Harbour

I've never tried English Harbour, looks interesting.

I'm a Ron Zacapa man myself, great stuff.
