Christ, it's in a tree some where , so loud , every morning 6 am it's like someone is @ the door who's chased by an axe murderer, and needs to get to safety..

We have (10in+ tall) woodpeckers that bang on our rain gutters as a mating call.

We also have deer and toads (?) grunting all hours of the night, had no idea deer could be so damn loud.

You should cherish your wildlife.

There are deer where I live, but they do a good job of hiding. I saw a toad last night for the first time in twenty years — only because it was blocking my entrance. (would have got hit by the door had I opened it without scaring it out of the way first).

Sounds as annoying as what we have here: a huge flock of Rainbow Lorikeets come around here screeching at first light because the old ****s behind us feed them.  First off it isn’t a good idea to feed the wildlife and secondly they are feeding them bread which isn’t good for them either.


(Cane)Toads here are a ****ing vermin.  What I haven’t seen or heard here in the suburbs in twenty years is the green tree frog.  I miss hearing their croaking in the downpipes.

My apartment is essentially in a forest, but I very much enjoy the bird noises throughout the day. Generally morning and evenings they are most vocal. There's one particular bird I've grown very fond of that does this long lilting call that sounds like a laser beam powering down between 4-5pm everyday. Sometimes I'll be listening to music with the window open and I swear that bird is calling along to the beat. At night this time of year it's usually coyote calls because they have a nest in there somewhere. When it's colder there are owls at night, but they seemed to have migrated at the start of Summer.

Except when the crows gather a couple times a week. They are too loud and their call is not soothing in the slightest.

I could do without the insects of absurd sizes though. Especially the 4in legspan spiders with giant black fangs, not a fan of them at all.

Lorikeets are ****ing cock heads, 10 out of 10 would pump that tree with a shotgun.

They also pick the loudest most resonant part of the tree/wood to go at it..  why couldn't they pick a more quiet section..

That’s because they have worked out where there is a cavity or less dense section of tree is and work on that.
