So after looking and not finding a custom TKL kit that was in my budget, I thought I would just buy a cheap TKL to practice modding and to generally just use as a beater board.
The Outemu brown switches aren稚 great, but for $60 Australian dollars, I am really impressed with the board. The stabs are loud and I値l swap those out for some lubed Cherry stabs. I致e got some decent PBT keycaps to go on it, and it値l get a paint job for now.
Eventually I値l change out the switches, but for now it痴 just nice to have a board that was great value and doesn稚 have clicks switches.

I snagged one of these boards a couple years ago and it was a surprise to say the least considering the cost. My son loves it. Also I'm not to worried on being out much if I mod it with better switches etc.

I've got a TKL02WS which i use at work as a daily driver. it's cheap enough to keep at the office without worry.
I've done a full re-build of it to make it more office friendly including:
Desoldering all LED's (Had to do it to fit zilents)
Desoldering all switches, installed zilent v2's
Replaced all stabs with cherry stabilizers
Painted the case
Replaced the keycaps
it's one of my favorite boards for the price! Great base for modifications

I still haven't painted mine, but I've done all of the internal mods that I had planned. I also bought a second stock one to use at work!
I ended up going with Gateron Blacks, because I've got another board being shipped from CandyKeys, that'll get the retooled cherry switches instead.
Here's a little gallery and vid of my build so far:
