I am looking to get 2nd keyboard, which have different feel compare to the HHKB pro2, any suggestions?
definitely love the pro2, but would like to try something else.

easy, easy. can't afford new woman... LOL...
the blue... umm sounds good, it seems like the 10 keyless is more popular than full sized one. any reason?
thanks

Tenkeyless is preferrable unless you use a setup with a raised mouse platform like so:

If your mouse is next to your keyboard on the same surface, you will much prefer a smaller layout keyboard such as the filco tenkeyless which is only 14 inches across. That is, as long as you won't miss the tenkey section.
Since you already have the HHKB pro I assume you have experienced the joy of a smaller keyboard?

HHKB and Tenkeyless folks can pry my numpad from my COLD DEAD HANDS!
:fencing:
Technically having your mouse on the same level as the keyboard is more ergonomic (at least, from what I've read) but I have a 104 key Filco in the keyboard tray and a mouse above it on the desk and I'm managing fine.

Here's my input:
I started out with a tenkeyless cherry blue and loved it for everything except gaming (it's primary purpose..) So, I traded it for a tenkeyless with blacks.
I hadn't even shipped out my blue board before buying a 104 key with blues (I missed that right enter key, I use it after typing in URLs - also the numpad for addresses and my finance/excel junk)
As soon as my 104 key with blues arrived I ordered a tenkeyless with browns along with a seperate number pad..
So..
In about 1 month I've bought:
tenkeyless blues
tenkeyless blacks
tenkeyless browns (not here yet... arg)
104 key with blues.
I'll probably end up with a unicomp on order before monday, and as soon as I see a lightly used topre at a decent price I'll have one of those too.
Good luck..

Oh, I also would rather have the tenkeyless w/ blues since I've ordered a seperate numpad.. lmk if you want to buy my 104 key w/ blues..

The only problem with that approach is that it's kinda like chopping off your tenkey. Your tenkey becomes hard to access since you have to push the mousing platform away first. This got really annoying to me so what I do now when I want my mouse closer is I turn my keyboard tray so that I sit at a slight angle to my monitor. When I need to be closer to the mouse for high precision work, I turn my chair to the right so that I'm lined up straight with my mouse.
When I start typing again, I turn back to the left around 10 degrees.
For casual swipes of the mouse, I don't turn my chair. I just reach for the mouse normally.

Damn straight. I even have an external numpad with my HHKB. I am not a UNIX programmer.

get 3 and try to find out which is the suitable...

Actually, the trackball reach, because the controller box is to the right of my number pad making my full key keyboard even longer does make my right hand hurt occasionally. I guess I get to request an ergo eval and I'll ask for a 10keyless and a number pad. If they'll get me the right mechanical, I'm willing to sacrifice the num pad or plug in the roll up.
Suggestions: You've got plastic, quiet smoothness. Get the loudest heavy full sized vintage metal.

Hi all, some advice and knowledge please. I have been reading all the topics on the Cherry Blue vs Brown. I am about press the button on a Filco Tenkeyless. This is to temporarily replace a proper keyboard (Model M) for the desktop and to fit into my notebook bag. So the blues are tactile and clicky and the browns are tactile but not clicky which means more chance of bottoming out. From a subjective point of view can anybody tell me how the actual noise on the Filco Blue compares with their own Model M. ‘ripster’ describes the blues like dominoes clicking. Is this a much sharper noise or louder noise than the semi baritone of a Model M and is it annoying? It would seem that the clicky blues would be closer to BS technology in noise and feel albeit with less pressure required. Am I on the right track here?
I am in Australia so keyboard shipping from the US requires a bank loan bigger than a Wall street analysts annual salary. We now have a distributor for Filco down under and a Filco Tenkeyless is A$176 delivered which on current exchange rates is about US$146 which I think is pretty reasonable.

It's not louder, but it's a much sharper sound. I like the sharp click and find the spring ping of Ms annoying, but that's a matter of personal preference.

Yes.

Sounds like this...
I find the sound on this video very inaccurate. I hear no spring ping on the Unicomp. I hear no click on the DAS, just the sound of thin keycaps bottoming out. Only the browns seem right to me.
