I know there's always considerable demand for these (http://www.geminicomputersinc.com/g80-3000lscrc-2.html) here at geekhack, so let the ordering frenzy begin!! $66.25 with free UPS ground!

Nice find! no shipping or tax for me!
Does anyone know where the controller sits on this keyboard? Is it under the caps lock / numlock led? I am thinking about getting one of these and taking a hacksaw to it, but I think the controller location might make it tricky..
And I gave away my old g80-3000lscrc already :P

I believe I saw it there while doing the double-shot key swap. But I can't be 100% certain, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
Also, this board is a lot more pleasant to type on after doing the swap. No more unpleasant scratchy feeling from the laser etching. If I had another donor board waiting in the wings, I'd order a second one right now!

If it's the same as mine, which I assume it is as they're both made recently, the controller is right under the lock LEDs and you'll need quite a lot of wires if you want to hack off the numpad. I think I ended up with 30-40 wires after cutting off the alphanumeric part of mine, though I think I probably could have cut the number down to the high twenties, and you'll need slightly fewer wires if you just remove the numberpad.

What the fudge? The cheapest air shipping is $140. I'm in Europe :(.
-
Are these MX blues, browns, what?
-
Blues
-
I ordered one and selected ground, let's see how that goes.

it's right there in the title of the thread, mate.

Unless you want the Chinese letterings for some reason, you should rather look for a g80-3000lsceu. I know that they are in short supply in Europe, but I'm pretty sure you'd be able to find a German online shop willing to order one for you. They're usually sold for under 60€.
-
looks like they (http://www.barcodegiant.com/cherry/part-g80-3000lscrc-2.htm?pg) have a few again also
-
Don't consider the Chinese layout, is this any different from Filco tenkeyless with blue switches?
-
They use PCB mounted switches instead of plate mounted ones. Some prefer one over the other for various reasons.

The lettering would bother me less than the iso layout would.

EU stands for QWERTY US (i.e. 104 keys ANSI layout) with € symbol on the 5 key.

Thanks, I was just looking at one of the mentioned sites.
-
I just checked this site and they are still in stock. I ordered one. Can't wait.
$66.25 total shipped...not bad.
-
what exactly is meant by USB-PS/2 combo? is it natively PS/2 with included adapter? I'm looking for a USB board for work, and this would really work nicely since I've been wanting a blue board anyway.
-
native usb - comes with usb to ps2 adapter
-
Specifically, comes with and works with a passive adapter, because the keyboard controller itself is compatible with either interface electronically.
-
thanks folks, exactly what I wanted to know :D
-
Mine is here already. Very well packaged in a huge box. Feels very nice but I have to go to work so I'll put up some pictures later.
Edit: It shows them still in stock.
-
Chinese lettering on the board or not?
-
Yes, but I don't mind. I'm sitting here (this morning) wondering why I don't yet have the E-mail confirmation that I'm to recieve from GeminiComputers.com and the doorbell rings...its UPS with the package already. Seems they have a warehouse in MS. which is close to me.
Pics are hard to take with that shiny surface...

I would describe the clicky as (high-pitched but not overly loud) and for me takes only a light touch.
I like very much. I can see where you can type with this and not bottom out. I sure can't do it yet.
-
Out of stock. :(
-
Wow, they don't last long.

that's why I post about it whenever I see these in stock.... they never last. don't wait so long next time :bolt:

Dude the best part about this keyboard is the switch under the spacebar. It is dreamy.
If I could get a whole keyboard made of cherry greens I would be so pumped.
When this keyboard comes in stock guys, just buy it. Like buy 2 of them. It's a no brainer. Except for in my case in which my wife would decapitate me if I did that, then it would really be a no brainer.

damn missed the boat.
