Title: HHKB Build Questions
Post by: Rotaku on Wed, 24 July 2019, 14:27:40
Hi! i've been gone for a while but i'm looking to get back in the hobby!

Few questions on a build i'm thinking about pursuing.

Would this: https://bit.ly/2LEfBFO PCB + plate work with this case?: https://bit.ly/2LEzwnY

Do I also need to buy the plate to get it to work with that case?

And since the pcb is hot-swappable it would mean no soldering required right?

Thanks !

in that particular case, the top part of the case is the plate. it's a sandwich style case. pcb would just be suspended under the switches by the switches. might make it difficult to use the hot swap....

also, have no idea if those two items will work together. isn't the bottom row of a HHKB a little different than just taking off the outside corner modifiers (CTL)? larger spacebar? or is that winkeyless? (larger space bar)

That won't work since GK64 PCB has a 2U left shift also the layout is fixed to a 60% with arrow keys. You should get a DZ60 Rev 3 and solder the switches in. So far i know there is not a separate 60% HHKB style hotswappable PCB other then the one in the Tofu kit but if it fits no idea. Safest bet is just to get a DZ60 V3 and solder the switches in.
