I sold my v2 switches as I got tired of typing on them. After months of trying to get used to them I just couldn't make peace with such heavy tactile bump, bottoming out every time and increased noise. Can we please have v1 back? In the mean time I made some Kailh BOX Pink clicks with white/jade springs and they are a pure joy to type on to sweeten the loss of my favourite tactile switch to date, which is zealio v1.

If your profile is correct, wouldn't it be because of the 78g weight?

If anything, the 78g weight would make them feel less tactile than the lighter variants.
The V2 zeals are just way too tactile.

... ? I have a switch tester from Novelkeys with the different Zealios V2 weights, and I don't understand what you mean by that.

The bump is a lot sharper on the 62g. While the 78g has a heavier press, it is a lot less jarring.

Sorry bro in 2019 how bigger the bump how better the switch is. Just wait in a few years the new tactile switches are gonna be so tactile that it feels you are hitting a rusty light switch.
-
Zeal v1 are much better switches in terms of tactility, the overly tactile hype train of switches just hurt my fingers.. I agree with this post

How's the T1 compared to Zealios v1?
Or whatever the "off-brand" T1 is called…

Sorry, the profile is outdated. I've had Zealio v1 78g then Zealio v1 67g which I used as a daily driver before I bought into Zealio v2 67g. Sadly I sold v1 to acquire v2 and now I got rid of v2 as well because I don't want to use them. My daily driver now is Kailh BOX Pink with jade/white spring however I'd like to buy 67g or 62g (preferrably) Zealio v1 R9-R11. I would be the happiest with R12 of v1 switches with improved housing and smoothness which v2 introduced as well.
For now I think the best option is ergo clears. Does anyone has any other suggestion how to tactile in 2019?

I've heard good things about OUTEMU Sky, but I don't think they're in the same league as Zealios.
The other go-to for tactile in 2019 are Holy Pandas. Now, I know they are a meme switch, but they are actually more rounded in tactility than the Zealio, from what I understand. A little close to MX Brown, in the sense that there's a more rounded bump. So the tactility might not be as jarring.
But the situation with these is bad: you either get flawed (poorly lubed) HPs from MassDrop, or try to construct your own. And MD doesn't seem to be providing the Halo Clears anymore.
What are considered the "good" tactiles in 2019? Zealios, HP, maybe OUTEMU Sky. People still make Ergo Clears, but I don't see them much.
Lots of people miss the V1 Zealios. I loved the 67 gr, but wasn't ready to build a custom back then.

You know, I'm kind of in the same boat as you are.
I may have to get an FC900 desoldered and resoldered soon, so this is an opportunity to put in good tactiles.
Zilents are going to cost a bundle, but what can you do? They're the only switch from V2 that I like.
Unless I can get my hands on some Holy Pandas.

Well, you can clean and re-lube the Drop HPs of course. Drop said on Keebtalk that they intend to bring Halo Clear/True back, they apparently just ran out of them by coincidence when they started selling HP. No big conspiracy (they claim).

I would +1 on the Ergo Clears.
-
Can you make Ergo Clears with MX Brown stems? Because I might have a surplus of them soon.

Nope only MX clear stems since those have the bigger bump.
-
Right, right. What about springs? I heard people using blues(?), but I'm not sure about Browns.
-
What about trying /r/mm? I have noticed V1 stick around far longer than V2 when they're up for sale so you shouldn't have any problem finding them.
-
Its an expensive solution, but I was pretty impressed with Zeal v2 stems in Aliaz housings. They dont feel quite the same as V1 Zeals, due to the bump being right at the top, but I like their stock keyfeel a lot more than V2.

Anniversary bump. :))

Learned a lot since I last posted.
WRT to the topic, some Zeal V1 copies are out there. Everglide Jade may be something like a Zeal V1 [with worse tolerances.]
There are rumors that the new FFFF switches at DeskHero.ca may be like V1, but that's unverified.
