Title: Distance from top of plate to top of case?

I've had trouble finding a definitive answer, but to achieve keycaps whose edges are just barely "recessed" into the case, how far is the plate from the top of the case? Are there certain values someone has knowledge of for any existing boards?

I think it's between 7mm and 7.5mm? Not sure though..

Put a cap on a switch & measure it. You can clearly see where the switch clips onto the plate.
