I agree. Four or six should be enough, top and bottom. You can also just lose the side screws and do with just eight like the kyuu. Since it will be sandwiched, maybe one of halves can have alignment tabs to secure the plate in place, like the aegis, jane v2, and kyuu.
.
Edit: I saw that you do have some sort of alignment tabs. If you have them where some of the screw holes are, again like the three examples, it would look much cleaner.
Looks good! Interested to see the price.
Better some more screws than having a gap somewhere, due to uneven pressure. That's a lot of screws for that form factor...

You're right we can definitely look into lowering the number of screw holes.
I am all hand support! love a mirror finish with nature color of aluminum. more than that I'm happy that I can finally have a board made in Canada
I really like this design!
Might I suggest a 3mm acrylic/polycarbonate plate option? This would let light out from underglow which would also be reflected quite nicely off of the buffed interior honeycomb! I am assuming the seem in the side of your case is the plate...
Clear or frosted/milky acrylic would work. Some people prefer frosted because it diffuses the light better.
Thank you! we have gotten rid of the gap on both sides by popular demand LOL! I will look into high profile cases, although I'm mostly looking into making a compatible hhkb plate and top for this case. :thumb:

Im hoping he has frosted but for sure he has clear.. I will update tomorrow.

Great! So I have a couple warnings for you...
It looks like you intend to run the Group Buy directly from PayPal. If you send out 25 invoices in one day and suddenly your account goes up to $10,000+ in a couple of days PayPal will freeze the funds until you ship the product! Basically if this is not normal for your PayPal account to have this much money coming in it sets off their auto-fraud detection. This has happened to countless group buy runners on GeekHack.
So be sure you can afford the raw materials because the money might get tied up. If the money is tied up and you have no materials to make your product with to ship it, everyone gets shafted. The GB runner is stuck with money they can't access because they can't ship anything, the buyers angrily want their product shipped, and getting PayPal to release the funds can take months...
The second warning is that it looks like your IC form is actually the Group buy form, meaning if I put my PayPal in the interest check then I will be invoiced. This is not an interest check. Usually payment is separate from collecting the list of potential buyers. This might scare off people who otherwise would complete your interest check.

If it's anything like the quality of your other work it will be killer. I imagine you don't want to complicate things focus on getting it right but is there any chance of a HHKB top in future if this first run is well received?
Looks nice and as long as the split space support stays I'm very interested.
How hard is it to polish the "Natural Aluminum" variant? Or will it come polished?
we'll include a shammy towel with it. :))
Honeycomb bottom is an interesting idea. Too bad you can't really show it off. Is it for extra support?

Count me in! (really though)
I want to cut my own custom plate for a Boardwalk PCB. Could you share an SVG or DXF of the plate?

Have asked this on reddit but didn't got reply. Wonder could you share some detail pics of the usb cutout and o-ring mounting structure? Thx.
The moment you have a HHKB top ready, I'm in. :)HHKB for the win.

Spacebars are easy enough, stabs, yeah, not so much, but they do exist! The moment you have a HHKB top ready, I'm in. :)The moment you have a HHKB top ready, I'm in. :)HHKB for the win.

I just finished modeling a top for a 7u and a seperate 6.25u HHKB top.
My understanding is that 6u spacebars and stabs arent very common?
