HHKB is one of the most famous keyboard in Mechanical Keyboard world !
and when mentioned topre they think about HHKB the first. But I think there are still other Topre out there like RealForce...
Can you guys suggest a better Topre than HHKB for TKL and suitable for gaming.
Thank you alot !

There really aren't that many Topre boards out there. You have the HHKB, RF variants, and a few Leopolds. And then there are a few non-official Topre boards.
What would make a keyboard "better" for you? Do you feel the HHKB/RFs are unsuitable for gaming?

the hhkb feel great for typing
but for gaming , I don't know it lack something like a soul or mood for playing game !!!
maybe because the dome respone feeling is not great for quick situation like Moba gaming?

Every Topre board i so far have used has great quality from my own experience. HHKB is the only difference i really see between the other Topre board since the HHKB Uses a plastic top mount and the other Topre boards use plate mounted.
It's really up to you what you get. Topre HHKB,Realforce,Leopold. I would go with a Leopold 65% if you want to have more space or a TKL Realfoce 87U if you need that lay out to game with. but still its kinda weird to use a Topre board solely for gaming. I think Topre is more designed for long typing sessions. I greatly love my linear MX switches to game on then to use Topre. But hey its up to you.

yeah exactly this. Topre isn't that very nice to game on but for long comfortable typing that's where they are good at.

I never felt the response time is slow but it is fatiguing to game on for long periods.
Perhaps any of the newer RFs with APC to adjust the response/actuation time could work for you, but they're expensive.
For "gaming" switches, most people would say a lubed linear switch, is always going to be decent.
I use Zilents V1 for gaming and I definitely prefer that over my Topre switches for extended gaming sessions.

Personally I love gaming on my RF, it's stock 45g silenced and it's easy on the fingers; it's set to the high actuation point via APC. I don't like using linear for gaming as you can't differentiate the actuation point when pressing lightly.

HHKB obviously wouldn't be good for gaming as it doesn't have enough keys.
For FPS, it doesn't matter what board you use. the game mechanic is not highly dependent on strafe accuracy. and there's no apm spamming.
For RTS, Topre is definitely a No-Go because Cherry style linear switches are much more easily apm spammable
So in the end, if you needed 1 board to do everything, you wouldn't use Topre.
If you're gonna have 2 boards plugged in.. Then that solves the issue, you'd just swap when changing tasks.

I don't own a HHKB but I did buy a RF from elitekeyboards (the uniform one with red led) and it's probably the highest quality most solid feeling computer peripheral I've ever owned.

Stock Leopold FC660C has way better sounding stabilizers than HHKB & RealForce boards, even after modding.

The HHKB is a great board...
But it isn't a very good all around board IMO..
Topre is already, very mediocre for gaming...But the HHKB itself lacks some of the keys that will be necessary for some games..
As a board for typing it is great...one of my favorites. I think the only concern I would have for others is the layout..you have to stick w/ it awhile...The backspace position is great but going back and forth to another keyboard can sometimes be a pain until you can switch back and forth without a problem..the arrow cluster takes time to get used to as well...
And of course Topre in general...if you've gone from Rubber Dome to MX..and then back to Topre..it'll feel a lot like just a normal rubber dome..you'll need to use it awhile to really start appreciating it....

About 5 years ago, Cooler Master made the TKL Novatouch with a Topre board and with MX compatible keycaps. The only Topre keyboard to be comercialised in Europe.
No RGB, not even a LED for Caps Lock, all black.
I bought one. I shouldn't have since it was 180€, super expensive at the time for a commercialised keyboard.
And it was totally worth it, I am looking to buy an FC660C right now.

They were going for 125EUR in Poland and to this day I regret getting rid of it.

There was a time when it was $100 CAD (on sale) at local stores. I wish I got it then. The price eventually went up to $230 CAD.
I'm glad I have mine, but my god is it a terrible keyboard.

Realforce 105 went for 130€ in Finland in verkkokauppa.com some years ago, I got mine at the end of 2013. That was money well spent.

IMO if you're looking at new/different topre boards, you're really debating between domes and not brands.
For me, anything lighter than the RF 55g domes feels too light. So, no there are no _better_ topre boards; just different boards.
