The Right Stuff
China Beach

I'll second Band of Brothers, but would also recommend people watch The Deer Hunter, Platoon, and Rambo First Blood. One thing that really annoys me about many war movies and dramas is how they gloss over the horrors of war and the effects it has on people, effectively glorifying war. B.O.B. showed this, but it still made several of them out to be heros to be idolized (even as they say they are not), compared to MASH or The Deer Hunter it it comes off as optimistic. The last season of China Beach is all about ptsd, something the public has really only recently started to talk about, unfortunately it was cancelled and so the last season seems almost thrown together and rushed, a real disservice to what could have been. Jarhead is another good one but for another reason, it shows just how stupid things can be in a war zone.

Agree whole heartedly when it comes to war dramas.  Off topic but thats what always bothered me about the show Game of thrones, just no real PTSD shown after large battles in the last season.

I couldn't stand Peaky Blinders. I think I watched 3 episodes and it was like torture.

I liked the first season, second was OK too. But then I realised it's actually just a complete chick flick, and I tuned out.

Def watch Chernobyl if you haven't. Best series I've seen in a while.

The West Wing.
It's amazing what all goes on in the White House on a given day.

It's both a comedy and a drama; I've watched it since I was like 12 years old. Will still rewatch the series every now and then.

Based on the Korean war and the Mobile Army Surgical Hospitals (M*A*S*H's) that performed surgery on the wounded soldiers, a few miles away from the front lines.

The first season of Narcos was good, but then it all went to crap as soon as Pablo was killed. Imagine that.

Band Of Brothers was great. Boardwalk Empire was mostly good.

Do things like The Sopranos, The Wire, Mad Men, and Curb Your Enthusiasm count?

Come And See is probably the best film. Rome is probably the best TV series.

Chernobyl is good until you get to episode 4. Though you don't know history and it'll be good for you anyway.

If you aren't sure, err on the side of hot because obviously you're picking up on something.
Especially in this case, olive drab and little to no makeup is hard to make look good.

This is her on set in 1972.
