Title: Lubing Switches (video game player)
Post by: filcomanfilthy on Sat, 21 September 2019, 13:02:52
I have a set of gateron ink blacks for a build, and i am wondering what lube people would reccomend (if any) for someone who is looking for the prime use of gaming. I am also wondering what lube i should use for the spacebar stabs, and if gaming changes what i might use for that. Opinions and general gudielines for different lubes are welcome!

The fact you are predominately gaming with the board you will be building doesn't make a difference one way or another when it comes to lubing your switches. For Linear switches that are decently smooth stock I personally prefer a thinner oil like Krytox VPF1415, GPL105 G00, GPL107 G00, etc (which all can work double duty as spring lube too). That's just me though, Krytox GPL205 G0 which a very thick (also hard to apply, need to go super light with it) Krytox grease seems to have become the community favorite lube for linear switches. I rarely use linear switches myself as I much prefer tactile switches, so I have yet to try 205 G0 on linears personally & couldn't say if it is superior to the oils I usually use with linears. If you want to go with a grease & are do not have any experience lubing switches yet, I would recommend to stay away from 205 G0 & go with Either Tribsys 3204 or 3203 as they are both very easy to work with.

Lol

Lubing will not do anything for gaming performance, it will just reduce wear and friction on your switches ^_^

205g0 is fine if you have a small brush and know how to apply it.

I use Gazzew blend #6 for stab wire and Loob 3g for slider/housing as well as the switches
