Something like that in terms of high quality (but higher price) would be really interesting.
any updates on this? We're working through prototyping phase currently.

Here are some images we have currently. Will have more information soon!
Prototypes are finished, just waiting for photos. I will receive pricing at the same time so prepare for GB!

Didn’t notice in the first post, possible plate being made. I’d be so down for a brass or something shiny

Hard to tell from those pictures, but did you decide against high profile? Please! I hope there’s still high profile.
Are there going to be feet for the case?Don't quote me but you may need to provide your own bumpons/feet.
This is the high profile version I believe, prototype will be in hand within a week.Hard to tell from those pictures, but did you decide against high profile? Please! I hope there’s still high profile.

Extremely interested! Easy buy if the GB starts. This design has a plate as a part of the case.
Something else I'm interested in would be an acrylic plate so I could use plate-mounted switches on my discipline, as I can't find any that are compatible due to the pcb hole placements. It would only have to cover the keyspace, and also some longer m2 screws would be needed to mount it, but I think it could look really sharp. Unfortunately I don't have access to a laser cutter, though. What you have done so far looks great. :thumb:
Will it still be usable without the plate?

I will need to double check but there should be a plateless version available (essentially the plate layer will be replaced with a case layer.

Thank goodness! Look forward to the case but was kinda dreading the desoldering process.

So small update:
Prototype should be shipped out to me before the end of the week (I heard that he was gonna ship it today). I'll be able to put it together sometime next week (I'll take nice photos and revamp the IC), then we can go into GB.
Do you plan on contacting Bryan from CFTKB to potentially do a bundled buy, with the discipline65 kit? I held off on purchasing the Discipline65 because there was no case for it, and I worry I won't be able to secure one by the time this case goes into production.
Smoky acrylic would be MINT, similar aesthetic to smoky polycarb would be amazeballs.I'll look into this option but know prices may be a little bit more expensive
Looking forward to this, would definitely buy a full case.:thumb:
oOo I just saw the part about potential color. A teal would be great. We're still working out color options right now.
is the component included in the 'partial' order integrated to the plate or are they separate? That I'm not 100% sure but I can ask when I'm back stateside.
I already have a plate for my discipline so I'm interested in the top acrylic piece, but if it isn't physically connected to the acrylic plate I would order the $50 option so I could possibly swap the plate in the future.

I'm in for this, I'd order 2. Really lovely!:thumb:

I have the same concern. I'd love this as a low-cost travel option, since I don't travel that often for work. More money for my at-home keebs, like the Nebula. ;)
Newsletter somewhere? Or just eye this thread? HahaYup, just added it to the original post, also you can sign up here (https://mailchi.mp/52c3604eda5d/acrylicdiscipline)
Just thought of something, will the plate support different bottom row layouts?Yup, that's one of the fixes that will be done for the GB.

Bummer - was excited for this but the news (elsewhere) that it won't be compatible with future Discipline GBs means I'm out. Best of luck with this GB, and hope to see more rounds in the future! What’s not compatible?
"I talked to him and he said he's planning on running a few other keyboards he's design first before rerunning Discipline. He also mentioned that the mounting for the diodes and such will be slightly shifted so please note that this is for boards that have already ran (as of 12/5/2020)"Bummer - was excited for this but the news (elsewhere) that it won't be compatible with future Discipline GBs means I'm out. So we will be offering PCBs (just the PCBs but a link to where you can purchase the diodes, etc.) also. Which means if you want a Discipline and want a case, it's possible to do so."I talked to him and he said he's planning on running a few other keyboards he's design first before rerunning Discipline. From the most recent post about this case on Reddit. So the layout for future Discipline 65% may be different enough that this case won't work. So this is really just a buy for those who already ordered a pcb from the first run.

Ah. Ok. So this case doesn't use the original mounted cover? Or should fit the new one without issues? So we will be offering PCBs (just the PCBs but a link to where you can purchase the diodes, etc.) also. What's different is how the very top acrylic piece covering the diodes, MCU, etc are mounted. He said he's switching to 6 mounting points rather than the 4.

When the PCB without hardware is offered will links be provided for a baseplate that's compatible with this case along with the other components?
Is it going to be the original pcb or the new one, or is the new one only going to be available in the future as a kit?
Sorry for all the questions, but they're important for anyone who didn't manage to get in on the first run of Discipline.

Email notification signup link is broken for meSorry about that, fixed it.

I will need to double check about the base plate (I presume it's the very bottom piece you're talking about?)
Original PCB that is compatible with this case.
And the questions are fine, I concur with your sediments (allows anyone interested to know the information they need)
Wish I hadn't missed buying the board. I'd love a plaid case somewhere down the road. With this GB, you'd be able to buy the board.

Ah. Awesome. I didn't know. I know it's sold out online, but I'm definitely in now if the PCB and components are available as part of the GB.Wish I hadn't missed buying the board. I'd love a plaid case somewhere down the road. With this GB, you'd be able to buy the board.

Have you considered adding a num pad aka Discipad to the GB? Id love to get both for workI have considered it but Worldspawn is very busy running his own GBs so we're trying to keep it simple this time around.
Will these cases come with new hardware? My discipline came with a couple wonky screws. That is the plan. And to try to source gold colored hardware to match.

Is this still slated to open today?Sorry, won't open today. Been busy with my other GB. I'm planning on having it open up March 9th and having it open till the end of the month. I will have a GB thread made when final launch date is set and I gather all the details.
