Hi, everybody. I am a keyboard-lover and designer from DT.Heart in China. I have been in this hobby for years and I am delighted to introduce my design.
At first impression, I wanted to design and make a minimalist-esque keyboard, but I am unsure how receptive it will be for fellow keyboard enthusiasts. I have went ahead and made my first edition prototype somewhere this May. Some of the design details did not meet my demands, thus several major modifications are made during my second prototyping process.
Here is the Mithril 60 keyboard!
------ 2019.11.6 update -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Waiting for months, the processing of samples has been finished!!!
At the same time, I will launch the limited color "Halloween" here

Layout: There are two layouts to choose from: Normal 60% or HHKB layout.

[attachimg=2]
The board uses a large fillet on the corner of the case to cater to a more modern theme. The top case uses a 4mm thick integrated plate as the mounting mechanism.
[attachimg=3]
Logo on the top right of the casing is made of aluminum finished in silver PVD coating.
PCB uses QMK firmware and USB Type C connector with the port located on the middle of the keyboard.
[attachimg=4]
The weight is made of stainless steel instead of the traditional brass, making the keyboard a tad heavier with a modern touch. Stainless steel is also more resilient to scratches unlike brass.

Contents of the Mythril 60 Keyboard:
6063 aluminum top case with integrated plate
6063 aluminum bottom case
Stainless steel weight
Aluminum logo finished in silver PVD
PCB (QMK with USB Type C connector)
Price:278$

I have spent considerable amount of time on the side and forehead of this keyboard. I will be eager to post the second prototype later along with the group buy details. Thanks for your support.
Mithril 60 is made by DT.heart, a brand-new manufacturer in China. We have spent more a year designing and making this exquisite typing-tool. Please stay with me for this GB.

THANKS!
-
Man I lost my first set of mithril to some guy offering free armor trimming.
-
Ahh, too bad it’s integrated plate though. Yet to receive my M60A but so far all HHKB-likes with integrated plate sounded not that great to me :(
-
Never mind,
There are two versions of this keyboard.
-
Clean looking board, best of luck for GB!
-
I don't think integrated plate is a good idea. Not many people like it.
Your board is lacking some features distinguishing it from others.
If you add bluetooth to your board, it can be a point.
-
There are two versions of this keyboard. You can wait for the real thing to come out.
-
Look great. wait for GB

sure gogogo!

Good keyboard. Looking for GB

Agree that some distinguishing features are needed even for this version to be able to stand out from other HHKB boards, ie. rama m60.
also ne wkl avail?

Looks nice! Wish you would reconsider for a standard top mount plate though. Really dont like the feel of integrated plates.

We also have the top mount

I love the design - what is the concern about integrated plate vs separate? is it because people want more flex (e.g. half plate, poly plate, etc)? or is there some limitation this imposes on the keyboard?
-

Pretty much my thoughts. Once you've gone split space on 60% it's hard to go back

Hmm, never tried split space, guess aesthetics are more important to me than ergonomics after all :D

First of all, thank you. I'll have three options about plate in group purchase.

Integrated plate = harsh bottom out. But it is not the biggest issues and some people do like it this way. The biggest issues is sound. Integrated plate boards are usually very pingy and echoey, which makes boards sound terrible (imo!) with almost any kind of a switch, but especially tactiles like Holy Panda / Zealios V2.

When to star GB
Before November 1st

Looks great. Although I would like to see a WKL layout and non integrated plate if possible. Otherwise I’d 100% be in.

Thank you for your advice. I'll think about it carefully. When we open the group, we will definitely have the option of separating the locating plate.

Before that, there will be 5 sets of samples with 5 colors, which will provide reference for group buying and color selection.

Wait white blue one in renders not color option :(. Those exact colors been looking for in a board.
-
Wow, thanks for changing it to top mount.
Also, that panda colorway is dope. Sucks that there is no white/blue option though.
-
Loving the look of the black/dark grey and green colorway!

Don't worry about the color in GB. I will provide the light color option.
-
With top mount I‘m out. So many available with this tech. Rama is also very succsessful with integrated plates. Was looking forward to try it out.

Do you have any experience with integrated plate boards?

The light blue on the rendering is proofing

That's good to hear. Also, since it's no longer integrated plate, do you have any idea how thick the plate will be now? Is it still going to be 4mm?

no 2mm
-
Do you have models with integrated plate available? Everything out there is top mount - I was looking forward to the thick integrated non-flex
-
Is there any chance for hotswap?
-
I believe he said in the future. For the time being though, it's going to be a solder PCB

Would it be possible to get bad boy without the strange bit on the top right corner? It sorta feels out of place to me :) And would a polished weight be a thing? I prefer polished silver or brass over colored steel :3
-
I love this board.
-
I love this board.
thank you
-
Board looks great.
Couple of questions:
1. Will there be options to mix and match the top and bottom aluminum case colors?
2. Are there any feet on the board? or will the bottom aluminum case + weight be flush with the surface?

The color of this group purchase is different colors of GB
The weight is on the same plane as the bottom

Awesome! I think I have a couple more questions now that I'm interested in the board:
1. What's the typing angle of the board?
2. Do you have the total weight of the of the board as well?

Wondering what these elusive mystery colors will be.
I’m also hoping for a hotswap PCB.
