Title: FPGA-based IBM Wheelwriter Option
Post by: MicroCoreLabs on Sun, 03 November 2019, 21:31:20

Hi,

I just uploaded a small FPGA project to GitHub which allows us to control an IBM Wheelwriter via a serial terminal.

Here's a short demo on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8gCYw75E1A&feature=youtu.be (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q8gCYw75E1A&feature=youtu.be)
And my blog:  https://microcorelabs.wordpress.com/2019/11/03/ibm-wheelwriter-printer-option/ (https://microcorelabs.wordpress.com/2019/11/03/ibm-wheelwriter-printer-option/)
And the code on GitHub:  https://github.com/MicroCoreLabs/Projects (https://github.com/MicroCoreLabs/Projects)

Enjoy!

I can't think of a reason to actually use this but I'm impressed that it works, surprisingly fast too.
