Did we get hit with malware ?
-
Imagine AI-trained spam bots that emulated tp topic names. The ultimate bait and switch.
-
I kinda understand the advertising ones, though why they necro a years old thread rather than starting a new one so their 'interesting' topic name appears as clickbait always seems weird (maybe pre-programmed thread ID, the same number on each forum?) The ones which randomly copy other threads or stuff from Reddit, or post random thanks at inappropriate threads I really don't understand and I always wonder if I'm banning people just because their English sucks.
There are only a handful on the worst days so I don't think it's malware, more likely they are just getting better at “proving they're human” - maybe that's what it is, the start of the AI takeover
/me wakes up to see the bots have found OT, that's why tp4 is riled

Tp4 has spoken with m0ar humans recently. Females from all walks of life/socioeconomic bracket speak g00d; males vary WILDLY in english competence, these r all white people, I d'n understand how this could've happened.
Is it just the case of women playing less video games, do girl stuffs like keep a diary, likely to read trash novels, d'n know, but the discrepancy is huge.
Tp4 can barely wurd as it is, proves the point.

I'm not sure about females being better at English, most here under 30 live in a world of simile (every fourth word is 'like') and they're no better at then when it should be than and have no idea that should've is a contraction and instead use the nonsensical 'should of'. Meanwhile males in each generation make up their own languages to confuse 'old' people...
-
'old' people...
We're living the tail-end of human civilization right before n00q waste makes earth uninhabitable.
Look @ hanford, billions of dollars later, Still not cleaned up, site rep still pocketing public funds in the process.
That's just 1 site, we have hundreds just in this country.
1 blown reactor site = $500 Billion to $1 Trillion to clean up. There is not enough man power/ money in the world. All current operating reactors are near design lifespan, some are exceeding, many have cracks, ALL of them store waste on site. Let's just cover this up with dat budget friendly corrugated steel top. Corrugate, Much Safe,

What bots are you talking about?
We recently talked about a special kind of bot that is exploiting and stalking people in a platform in our podcasts

Yeah, I thought it was weird that we're suddenly getting all these bots.

Did we get hit with malware ?
It comes in cycles.
And there's a reason it happens the ways that it does, but I'd prefer not to elaborate on it and teach them new tricks. If GH's anti-spam works even half as good as it does on my forums, you're actually seeing only 0.000000001% of the spam trying to hit this place. I'm not joking.
And yes, there is a new attack running around, but I doubt that's what you saw.

I am interested in these details, they sound intriguing

Yep, that's a common tactic, though they usually put more effort in than that. I've seen them quoting an earlier post or even simply copy/pasting an earlier reply as their own. They often come across as inept or non-native English speakers (which they often are not), but I'm convinced it's on purpose. The more inept you think they are the likelier they are to fly under the radar.
It took me a while to realize just how devious these people really are, everything they do is tactical and calculated.

don't know how this actually works but I imagine some sort of bot that targets vbulletin forums in specific and the exploiter will probably answer the human question once for each forum then bots can freely register for the website and do their thing
-
Ya'll saw Her (2013) w/ scarlett johansson ??
Hoping that's where we're headed.
-
I think this thread scared them - not had to cleanup any bot-ads for days. Hopefully they aren't just regrouping for a mass invasion :-X
Edit: Nevermind, just found one :))
