Interstate Battery has good quality and excellent warranty at reasonable price, if they are available in your area.

Don't have an official interstate batt store in my area.  Not sure I could trust local outlets on battery storage.

Unless you are getting a gel battery, they're pretty much all the same.
What you don't want is one that has sat on a shelf too long, after 6 months of inactivity they can go a bit flat and not want to charge fully.

I paid ~$130 just over 5 years ago, put it in, starts when it's 5F outside just as easy as summertime, haven't had to do anything with it since install.

I had issues with my 'normal' battery not wanting to start in winter and leaking or whatever and corroding the battery terminals, got stranded a couple times because of it.

But my vehicle tends to get treated pretty rough, has quite a few rattles in the front end.

What's causing the terminal corrosion, leaking acid upwards ?

I just buy the gold battery from autozone.  Batteries last ~5 years.  If yours is older expect to replace it soon.  Usually the first very cold day in a season it will fail.  Always check the date on the battery when you buy it and demand the most recent battery.

I once killed someone in a battle royale game via POTATO. Nice.

I've used Autozone duralast 3 times over the years and they always last the life of the battery.  I get the next to cheapest one (the one that has a 3 year replacement included)

Just bought an AutoZone Duralast battery cuz it's winter and my battery would die if I didn't drive the car for two days.

Too bad my apartment parking lot is flat, otherwise I'd just pop start it.

A bad battery taxes the heck out of the alternator, and on newer cars that can be really expensive as some cars require serious labor to replace it, early Ford Escapes required removing a halfshaft, dropping the front subframe and lifting the engine. I think it books at 16 hours labor which at the time it was $99 an hour.

And that can be just the start of problems it can cause on a modern fuel injected car, it's not remotely the same as it is to do on a car with a carb and simple electronics. Some cars will not even try to start with less than 12volts (some BMW) as the computer will not come on even if everything else seems to work, you can try push starting it all you want, it will never start. If you are lucky, not starting is the least of the problems it can cause.
