I've used mechanical keyboards for years, but never thought about building my own until recently. I bought a das keyboard to compliment a new computer build and was so disappointed with the keyboard. I looked into replacing the keycaps and bip bam boom, I found sites like kono.store, kbfans, drop, novelkeys, and whole bunch of the sites... I grabbed a silver Kira with Hako Trues, still waiting for it to be delivered - learning about 'pre-retooled' switches o_0 - ready to pull the trigger on a set Hako Royal Trues - I've used cherry browns for years, tried reds, love the bump - 100% ready for something new.
Bonus fun, my youngest kids are old enough to get into keyboards, they all want to build their own now - I've been talking with my wife about figuring out a box of board kits to give to my daughter's girl scout troop so they can earn their STEM patch.
Anyway - it's already been a whirlwind getting into this and I think I'm really going to enjoy it.
