If it were up to Tp4,  no one with LESS than 3000 posts should be allowed to Trade.

And all members must be vouched for by existing members, no exceptions.

If any member commit fraud, the entire lineage of members is put on probation and face expulsion should negligence be found. Prevents selling seats, and community self-awareness/ monitoring.

It's already 2 ez to commit fraud on GH trade/marketplace.

The forum software doesn't differentiate between selling and buying, and asking mods to watch it is asking a lot.

You can still buy, you just can't post there.

Yeah one of the mods explained that my posts were not allowed for sales largely to prevent issues like opening multiple accounts to Jack up selling prices, or with the intention to commit dishonest acts...

I agreed that it is not the most ideal, but I guess it helps to mitigate the problem a little. And I tink the limit was at 10 or 20 forums posts? Which by surfing around and making comments are exactly too difficult, and promoted some community building as well... Just surrf around ppl's projects and make some posts... You would be able to start selling real quick :)

This has been a big problem with those click clacks and collectibles.

The earlier $200 - $500 sales NEVER HAPPENED.  all they were, were people essentially paying the Ebay fees to themselves (or each other, in an organized racket) to trick the community into thinking there's a Market for the caps at those prices..  That market never existed, and even if it could be temporarily sustained for a season, it quickly faded away and the LOSERS are the ones sitting on a trove having spent the most money, taken for a ride by pump-n-dump.

Then come NEXT season, the cycle repeats. it's a common tactic for art sales/auctions.

Are people actually able to sell stuff on GH? It always seems that stuff sits in those classifieds posts forever, but maybe I'm just reading them wrong.

I've only used /r/mechmarket because I get multiple offers within minutes of posting something.

I've bought a few things here and on DT and watched things I was considering disappear, so yes, things do sell.

It used to be much simpler, but then a couple *******s had to ruin it for everyone else by seeding mistrust and forcing further restrictive rule implementation.
Kinda like how you need to take your shoes off at the airport now.

I still regularly conduct business via PM here though, most of the people on here are tight-knit and I trust them. Never had a bad private transaction on GH.

Yeah, I've only done one transaction on GH through PM and it was because someone was looking for something specific that I had, so I offered it, and it went smoothly.

I guess I'll look more into the classifieds here.
