First off, just wanted to say I'm not too familiar with the rules on the forum, so if I mess up and break any rules please tell me and I'll try and fix any problems...
But anyways,
I found out about this hobby a month or two ago, and decided I would create a custom keyboard in 2020, since I was planning on upgrading my setup anyway, but recently I've been scrolling through this sub and reddit for hours daily....
At this point I'm planning on getting one of the e-white 7V Keyboards by gok101, and ordering either GMK Ashes or GMK Metaverse 2 (maybe both but my wallet )
For switches I'm planning on getting Novelkey's cream switches and lubing them with Krytox205 G0 (I'm probably gonna order like 100 though cause I know I'm gonna eff some of them up)
I doubt this post will gain any traction, but I just wanted to tell someone about my newfound hobby I guess,
also F for my wallet
Any comments appreciated, cause although I've spent a lot of time searching for keeb stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if I messed something up :p
EDIT:
Thought I would link the stuff, cause why not:

Congrats and good luck with the new hobby! It get's so expensive so quickly. Especially if you don't have a bunch of stuff necessary to building keyboards like soldering irons, solder, stabilizers, etc. But it's so fun!
Someone mentioned this when I was getting started, so I figured I'd share as well. If the 7V (or any other premium board) will be your first soldering project, it might be a good idea to pick up a cheaper board to practice soldering. I know there are a bunch of smaller boards that you can experiment with. Off the top of my head, https://cannonkeys.com/ (https://cannonkeys.com/) has their practice board kits at the sub-$50 price range, and https://keyhive.xyz/ (https://keyhive.xyz/) and https://mkultra.click/ (https://mkultra.click/) have smaller form-factor boards at reasonable prices.
I ended up picking up a DZ60 from https://kbdfans.com/ (https://kbdfans.com/), but when it came down to it, I spent a good chunk of money for all the parts. I probably could've started off cheaper if I knew any better. Oh well. I had fun building it.
7V seems like a great board. I'm probably gonna try to get one as well. and GMK Ashes seems to be pretty popular from what I can tell. I keep going back and forth between wanting it and not. Either way, it'll be great. The color combo of the e-white 7V and GMK Ashes will be nice and gray scale.

This sounds like a super good idea! I'll look into it, thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks, I've spent a lot of time looking for parts
Hoping I can piece everything together properly once I get everything, and that the final product looks good :p
