I got a free AEKII the other day! The stem of the 3 key is broken off in its slider and seems to have been glued in there. Also it was full of sticky brown goo until I cleaned it out. Looked like a soda spill. It was good for the price.
I was expecting cream sliders with black rubber dampers, but when I opened it up....... No dampers. It was made in USA not Mexico or Japan. See attached pics.
So what do I have here?
-
Yup, pinks or oranges with broken caps. Looks well abused.
-
we can rebuild it.
we have the technology.
-
Cool. Pink = black then, right?
Just the 3 is broken. From the number row not the number pad.
I don't have six million dollars to rebuild it.

may be the cap had broken ToT

That's odd... perhaps it was an early production model, as the original AEK used pink switches, and the original ADB non-Extended model used orange switches,
No one really knows for sure whether there's any difference between the pinks, oranges and blacks.

If you need an AEKII cap, PM me, I should have an extrey.

M0116; the original ADB non-Extended. came with Oranges and then Pinks.
M0115; the original AEK. Came with Oranges and then Pinks

Thanks for the good information everybody.
Didja I appreciate your offer, but I don't plan on using this keyboard so I don't really need a non broken 3.
