So Cherry did do some messing around with their profiling back in the day, although 2-2-2-3-4-4 sound pretty funky to me. R5 on the other hand I wish would make a comeback, I got the OG set of GMK Sky Dolch that came with R5 caps & I always use them over the R4 ones!

1800s like the one below have the flatter top profileMoreShow Image(https://i.imgur.com/3Eq4r4Z.jpg)
But yeah, GMK now has R5 (1u, 1.25u, 1.5u, numpad enters...) for all compatibility since GMK Carbon R2 so people should make more use of it.
IMO, it's superior.
Most of the full size boards will have R5Of the full-size G80-3000, the winkeyless had R5, but those with Windows keys have R4 at the bottom.

A bit of necromancy: which boards had R0 (or F-row) profile top row (like modern GMK Carbon R2)?Very few, relatively speaking. You'll usually only find it on the absolute oldest, non-standard layout Cherry boards. For example:

That g80 is a very interesting keyboard and the set is very nice. It is a shame that the bottom row appears to be engraved and is now worn offYeah, it's quite an interesting one. I should probably document it properly sometime soon. It has a real MX lock underneath the Alpha Lock key too, one of the few boards that comes with one.

Roughly how much cost does R5 row add to a base kit? For non-Drop quantities but more like normal vendors.

GMK doesn't do quotes on a per-key basis and instead accounts for the kit as a whole, so there's no real "formula" that's known publicly for that to be calculated accurately.
