Hey all, I've got a black KBD75. I've rocked the mito canvas set for about a year now and the black case with the creme color keycap mismatch is killing me.
Is it ill-advised to spraypaint the case? I've looked at the youtubes and the outcome looks pretty good imo

You can and there's a few ways to do it.
Some EZ-Off oven cleaner can remove the anodizing allowing you to strip and paint it (beware the stuff is nasty!). You can scuff it and just prime/paint over it. Or my favorite, prime right over the anodizing, yes, this yields the worst long term results, but you can easily remove the paint and do it again without damaging the anodizing.

Nice! I went with option two this morning because I could just do it without another trip to the hardware store.
How do you take it back to the anodized layer if the paint isn't quite right?
I went with a canvas color to go with canvas caps, but if it's possible to redo in 6 months, I may hit it with one of the highlight colors.

Solid color, B- painting execution.

If you are going to just repaint it again, light sanding works, if you want it completely bare light sanding can work then just buff out the scratches or cheap paint stripper (maybe even Acetone) should take it off easily enough without hurting the anodizing (test first).

Tbh I wouldn't recommend, I'd recommend getting it to a cerakoting service and you can choose from soo many options and the finish is way better.
