USPS has raised its international pricing for packages this year, and pretty significantly too. 

Fedex is around $21 for the shipping, but then duties and taxes are added in the cost as well.

I dunno man, for the same volume of kits for GMK Ashes I'm getting $31 USPS shipping (this is definitely higher compared to before the increase). Not sure how your site is calculating $51.

A lot of us prefer USPS over Fedex in Canada. Fedex tends to send us an additional bill after it's delivered, usually $20 for a processing fee.

EDIT: after playing with different kits. There seems to be something wrong with your calculator. If I put alphas + mods in my cart, $21 shipping. Base kit by itself, $21.

However when all three are in the cart it goes to $51. Something is wrong there, ordering them separately is cheaper than together. You might want to check that @mgsickler

That’s the price increase of hitting the next pound with weight from USPS. It’s what happens when you go over 4 pounds.

Also, our Fedex includes all import duties and taxes. There are no additional fees to receive the package.

i just dumped so much on future funk knowing this was my next set within a month lol! really looking forward to this set, can’t wait to see how it grows! i’ve always loved the set since the first run and have been watching since this was announced, not about to miss out again.

According to novelkeys, november 2020, but that can change easily depending on how many sets gmk needs to produce. For example, for the past few months, gmk has been delaying sets since last fall, there were a bunch of sets in gb.

Is there a good breakdown of what’s different in the base kit aside from F13 and the purple Esc? That’s all I’ve noticed, but curious if there is anything else that would be worth noting. I do want an F13 key, but I have 2 (or maybe 3) og base kits already so I’m torn what to do lol. I guess I could probably at least sell one of my old kits at cost.

Definitely need the dark alphas and the new accents/novelties.

We'll be shooting for midnight (i.e. the 28th), but as long as you can place an order, it will still be open.

Hey everyone, updated numbers sent to dvorcol, but good news bad news.

Good news: Base is over 400 kits now! And Extra Toppings has hit MOQ!

Bad news: due to low sales, we have to cancel the ergo kit. You should be receiving an email in the coming days whether you'd like to refund the kit itself or your entire order.

This is a gorgeous set! I was sorry to see the Ergo (Extra Sugar) cancelled, but certainly understand. I appreciate the attempt.  :thumb:
Owning 2 'Doxes I understand my opportunity for GMK sets is few and far between (and Colemak to boot when I can get it!). My guess is a lot of Ergodox-EZ buyers aren't necessarily active in this community and don't know these sets are available. (REALLY seems ZSA could grab 20 sets or so for resale anytime these show up!)  And there just isn't enough of the custom Dox variants(Hot Dox, etc) within the custom community to buy these up to MOQ. That being said, Sets like Olivia and 8008 could have offered a Ergodox and certainly would have made it.  :mad:
I'll continue to make due with Oblivion and also Dots which just shipped!. (and the butt load of KAT sets in the pipe).

GLAD all the others are getting made. I'm anxious to get a look at this set at a meetup once delivered.

Yeah, I was hopeful for it, but alas. It's definitely hard to get the word out to ergo users it seems, not to mention most seem used enough to uniform profiles like DSA that jumping to GMK is steep for a profile they're not familiar with.

If I still want this kit for my ergodox, is there any kits apart from the base that would help me out with my build? Or would it be a better idea to just combine the taro base with a complete ergo kit from another set?

The later. The only way to do it with the current kits, would be if you were to buy multiple kits just for a few 1.5u mod keys. You'd have way too many unused keys for the money you are spending for it to make sense. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of other ergo mod kit options either. You could try GMK Oblivion assembly, GMK Lunar, GMK Sixes (not sure when GB will be), GMK N9 assembly (TKC), but I'm not sure how well those will match with Taro, if at all.

Hey everyone, it's officially the last day to get GMK Taro!

Expect more detailed numbers and one of Dvorcol's lovely graphs once numbers are finalized, but I wanted to let everyone know that we have officially sold over 1000 Base kits! It was an ambitious goal, but I never doubted it for a second. If anyone has any last minute questions, I'll be keeping a close eye on things today, so feel free to post em up!

Yeah, extras will definitely be the way to go, not to rule out an R3 at some point in the future, but given R2 hasn't shipped and I've got other projects on my plate, R3 isn't something to really consider at the moment.

Unfortunately I don't have anything concrete yet re: official deskmat, but it is very much on my radar for something I want to get done for this set!

you can buy extras base sets from daily clack, here: https://dailyclack.com/products/gmk-taro?variant=31649736622135

it comes out to $190 with shipping to the US per base set, assuming your credit card doesn't charge international transaction fees. group buy price was about $120 with shipping. it's a high mark up but it will be far worse when the sets ship and the only place to get them will be r/mechmarket. this set will cost north of $250 on the after market. sets like peaches and cream, 8008, etc are already fetching $300. taro r2 only sold 1200 units with extras, it will be hard to find with all the new people who joined the hobby recently.

Oh gosh, wish I had been around to see this, one of my favourite drinks too - guessing it's probably way too late to pick-up extras or is there a small chance once manufacturing is done?

We are still awaiting manufacturing/shipping, so there's a chance you'll be able to get in on extras once the sets actually ship!

GMK sets are taking about 10 months to deliver. i would not expect this to ship earlier than January.

The only thing I could guess is January sometime, as we're looking at late Dec for GB orders to go out, and extras don't go up until all GB orders are fulfilled.

I'll be sure to update here once I've got a more concrete date.
