Title: Does BOX jade still break keycaps and how to tell if mine is retooled?
Post by: envyy24 on Sat, 07 March 2020, 15:55:29
Yeah the tittle pretty much says everything I want to ask. My wife just gifted me a set of SA, god bless me, and it feels so good. However Im scared that my daily driver, box jade, would break these precious caps :(

Also, since i bought these switches from someone else I am not sure myself if they are the retooled version. He told me that he ordered those switches last Sept, but did not specify where exactly. If someone can tell me how to distinguish, it would be very much appreciated!!!

Sharing a bit of my excitement :)

No, retooled BOX switches do not break keycaps anymore.

To check, measure both axes of the cross on the stem. They should be exactly the same length. If one is longer than the other, even by a little bit, they are not retooled.

Thank you, I guess I have to look for a way to measure that.
