Title: Wood wrist rests smaller than keyboards?
Post by: typo on Mon, 09 March 2020, 03:47:02
It seems all wood wrist rests, and I have a high end one are 1" smaller than there given keyboard size. 1/2" per side. I was wondering if anyone has noticed this and if anyone knows why? Or could it just be variance in keyboard size? For instance not all 65% are the same size case? Especially ones with metal cases? It looks silly to me that my wrist rest is smaller than my keyboard. Otherwise it functions absolutely fine. Since the 1/2" on each side is the case and not the keys. Perhaps that is exactly why? It just looks dumb to me though. Although too long would look even worse I suppose. Of course I am just being anal as usual but honestly I was wondering if anyone knows the answer to this?

Sounds like a poorly designed wrist rest

No, I must have had over 10 wood ones in my time and they are always shorter than the board. It is some "thing" with wood ones but I do not get what. I was wondering if anyone knew why. Soft ones are all the right size.
At least finally you said something constructive though. Thank you walie
