"Bus mouse" is such a generic term, it's kind of irritating. There were a few (incompatible) bus mouse technologies, perhaps the best known being the Microsoft InPort.

The plug on that is not InPort (I've got one mouse and card and adapter set) so figuring out what to interface it with would be...not fun.
