Title: How do I execute this keyboard layout?
Post by: cassi0peia__ on Fri, 10 April 2020, 01:45:32
Hello,

I'm somewhat knew(ish) to the world of mechanical keyboards here, so I was wondering if anyone might have any idea what this type of keyboard layout might be called?
Also,  Assuming I would need to construct this from scratch, does anyone might know the best and easiest way I could build something like this?

Welcome to Geekhack! That is commonly called "symmetric stagger".

I would look at the Katana60 (https://josef-adamcik.cz/electronics/buiding-a-custom-keyboard-katana60.html) which has a similar layout but with the gap a bit more to the right. The first version has been sold in kit form at CandyKeys (if not more places), and a version 2 (http://url=https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=100468.0) is in development.

bpiphany also designed the Blue Pill (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=67713.0) which is closer to your layout, but I don't think he ever got it manufactured and sold.
