The case has been reopened. Let's see if the popularity of this show uncovers any new facts. The way the show presents her, she definitely comes across as very suspicious.

Her husband's lawyer was told by informants that he was tossed out a heli into the Gulf.
The man was selling drugs and black market animals, why do you think he was making those flights and lost his license. The sheriff only re-opened the case to stop people from calling and complaining, they know nothing will come of it. They already know what happened.

OR... orrrrrr. Carole Baskins were the Mastermind behind it all, using secsual coercion on the husband to do the leg work. THEN, THEN, when the wrong people got in the tussle, Carole needed a fall guy. So, she fed the dude to tigers, and claimed the role of innocent widow, pocketing the blood money.

The supplementary episode was kind of lame. I generally like Joel Mchale, but he really missed an opportunity to ask some hard hitting questions. The main thing he asked was, "How is your life different since TK aired?" which is like asking a comedian, "Where do you get your ideas from?"
Also a shame they couldn't get Doc back, that ****in sociopath is probably too smart to do anything like that again.
I do like Rick Kirkham, he reminds me of Hunter S. Thompson which is likely his intent.

Solid episodes, good questions. So, it does seem Joe was the only remarkably messed up person of the whole show, everyone else is basically just normal working blue collar.
I feel like they definitely held back on some of the questions, which they're prolly saving for the Movie or a spin-off.

They only casually mentioned the husband being thrown from a heli and rolled right on past like it wasn't important, and to a degree it wasn't. The show was about Joe, not Carole.
Believe it or not, the show actually made Joe look really good compared to what he was actually doing.
TONS of drugs, way more than you think, there are scenes where if you look close you can see Joe carrying drug paraphernalia in his hands. Multiple people who spoke out against Jeff and Joe's homes burned to the ground suddenly. Lots of racism. Just a few Google searches turned up interviews and twitter feeds of people who were there and the stuff they were saying was just so much worse than the show. No one stood up for Joe in court or the after show because the show never showed the worst of what went on.
His want for attention and filming everything was his own worst enemy, here's a video that they never aired showing them discussing Joe forging checks and campaign finance violations (which put Jeff in violation of his parole).

Jeff and joe and the bulk of them are all bad people. But it's a large episode of Jerry Springer, where among the pile of trashy people, the audience picks their favorite.

That's actually kind of sad. People in other countries already have plenty of bizarre/wild stereotypes for us. Now they may think we're all like the nutcases/sociopaths on that show.

What is it that you mean by near immunity? Charges never being entered, their being dropped, or lax sentences? I know the sentences are extremely lax by comparison, 63% shorter sentences, and they're twice as likely to avoid prison time if convicted, according to the University of Michigan Law.
