Interesting concept but I don't like the idea that I'd have to remove the bumpons every time I want to open it up. Granted they're cheap to replace, maybe it's just me.

All done in persuit of the cleanest design possible. I hear you tho, I will include spares  :)

Correct me if im wrong but based on the samples, your pcb is north facing? Please considering swapping to south facing so we can use cherry profile keycaps. You dont even have leds on here in the first place.
I assume you've done this to make room for the usb connector, but please consider doing the normal thing and flipping only "Esc" and "1" to be north facing instead.
Regards, a very sad cherry profile keycap user.

There's definitely potential with the design. I feel that if you're going for a custom PCB then it would look way cleaner with a centred USB. Offering standard PCB compatibility is nice but just saying... Also, I think there's not a real reason to go with gaskets on the sides and you'd actually benefit from it more, both in manufacturing (slightly but still) and "feels". How deep is the engraving on the bottom? Seems real deep.

Screwholes under bumpons is a nice touch. If you go with standard sizing and/or add some extra in the final product than it's definitely an easy and quick way to keep it clean!

Also what Puddsy said - Raindrop was a keyset with quite a heavy past. :D Nothing wrong with the name though.

Beautiful design! I agree with @funderburker about the centered usb aligning with the raindrop motif.

Looking forward to seeing the development and some full renders.

Hi Yuki, please help me understand your question a little more. See below image with cherry profile GMK Oblivion on the board, attached to a standard 60% case. The switches are rotated 180 compared to the "standard", this was done for prototyping purposes and will be reverted on the final PCB, however it makes no difference as the switches are symetrical. This would only be an issue if the switched were rotated 90 as the horizontal legs of the stems are thicker than the vertical.

Hi funderbkeurr, thanks for all of the feedback! So far 78.9% have polled to keep the USB-C on the left, I was also in two worlds about this but I guess compatability is king! The engraving on the bottom is 1.5mm. Thankyou for the feedback on the gasket, an initial prototype is on its way to get a general "feel" and better understanding on the ergonomic components of the design.

Switches are symmetrical but switch housing and keycap is not. There can be some rub between the inside of a GMK keycap and switch housing on certain row profiles because of north-facing placement. Just google around for the issue on r/mk or here.

Is the imprint of the lower housing of the keyboard fixed? Can Kanji be selectively removed? Or can you put your favorite stamp?

It is CNC into the bottom case. There won't be the option to remove it or request different characters unfortunatly, variations like this would send the cost through the roof and I am aiming to offer it around the $350USD price point, far below recent 60% boards that have run in a GB. The current design that you see, including position, size and specific characters are what have polled out of several design polls.

Is there a HHKB render or proto by chance?
Hi sctang. The demand for the HHKB top was not enough to project us reaching a MOQ for that specific top. What we have done is altered the HHBK layout slightly. Rows 1-4 will remain as standard HHKB layout, row 5 will be changed to a standard 60% row 5. This allows us to still offer a HHKBish layout that still captures the main draws to the specific layout, however will now fit into the standard 60% case. The layout section will be updated to reflect this.
