I need to replace a black square metal badge. I am thinking worst case I could cut down some steel, and template paint it. But is there a way to buy a replacement or get one made?

I'm not aware of any. I imagine not, unless there's some hole-in-the-wall boutique internet shop that does it. I know a guy was talking about possibly trying to get a badge made for an empty space for one on a Unitek K151L, since literally all of those boards seem to come with an obvious spot for a badge, and no badge.
I do see that something of the sort has been done with at least the Model M oval badges, in a group buy.
I have thought about maybe trying to make a square of thin sheet steel, and maybe try transfer printing. Then you could make it say whatever, instead of just the old IBM logo.
