Hello everybody!
I finally decided to join GH too, after getting into the custom-keeb-fever a while ago through a friend.
Some may already know me since I am kinda spamming on a bunch of mech-related discords (mainly in the German community) - for everyone else: Hi, my name is Moritz, I'm an electronics-enthusiast and physics student who loves starting projects and then forgetting about them and leaving them half-done. One of those awful ISO_DE users. Nice to meet you!
Since I could not find a keyboard that exactly matched my ideas (at a price I could afford) I decided that my first custom will be a fully self-designed board, and since I love open source stuff, it's available on github (so far only the PCB, the case will follow once it is done). It's not yet finished and/or tested, but it'll get it's own thread in time. Until then, you'll maybe find me in some other topics. Still looking for a keyset for one of my two planned boards, so I am lurking around the keyset IC corner to stare at pretty sets I can't afford.
See you around!

Hi Moritz. Welcome to Geekhack.
Your project process is just like mine. It can be a struggle to end up with less projects than you started with in a given week or month.
Good luck with your custom design. It is very nice of you to release it for others.

Welcome :)
Good luck with the project, with all they keyboards out there, there's still layouts that can be had :p

Thanks for the welcome!

Thanks! I think I am at a good point - I can only hope my PCBs will work! My view on designing something is that the more people may end up benefiting from it, the better I did. If somebody uses my design as a base to create a board of his own, or some company decides to grab my design and launch a production run, even if I have no monetary gain from it, I would be super proud. I doubt either will happen, though. :)

Thank you! My layout isn't particularily innovative (it is rare, but has been done before) - but I have focused on a few things that haven't been done in this combination as far as I am aware. Mostly designed it to be rather cheap and easy to manufacture, as well as highly modular (between a wired and a wireless version). But we'll see how that works out once the prototypes are here. Hope it'll work as intended.
