Is the personal decision to use steroids for Vanity-Muscles really all that different from someone who decides to eat alot-of-Pizzas and die early from Heart disease/Diabetes/Cancer ??
It seems like Roid-guys catch all this negativity.
You put a turbo charger in, it wears out the engine block.
The assigned quantity of negativity seems unfair..
Thoughts ?

All the biggest meatheads I've met all eat like total ****. Or maybe it's just when I was hanging out with them is when they were not adhering to a diet, either way I seen those ****ers pack away 3 dinners in one sitting then go out and drink about 12 beers. Carb city, idk how they work that **** off.

The people who put peas on pizza remind me that the ninth circle of hell exists for that reason.

the other thing is that the bio-mass of all these pizza guzzling obese humans is far greater than these skinny muscle men which results in them being far more powerful (7.9 compared to green anaconda's 8.2).

We are more fit not BECAUSE of the pizzas, it's DESPITE the pizzas, relative to (Wolves).
Our intellect is so ahead that DESPITE this major setback to health, we're still ahead of most other animals.

That sounds like regular Friday night out in UK from what I've seen :D

I took steroids for the better part of a year a few years ago. Physician-prescribed for a medical condition, and it was a near-miraculous solution.
The medical part was 3 months but then I spent 6 months weaning off of them, you have to do it very slowly. I was always hungry and gained about 20 pounds, but I also hated it and was glad to get off.

I totally read that as methheads the first time.

Presumably this was a catabolic steroid, like prednisone, no? My wife was on prednisone on and off for years to control inflammation from autoimmune problems, and it indeed lead to temporary cushings syndrome.
Regarding anabolic steroids, I don't have a problem if someone uses them as long as it is not against whatever sport's rules. I just hate that people claim to be natural when they clearly are not, but this is partly forced on them because these drugs are illegal because "think of the children!" Athletes also lose endorsements if they admit to using them, even though everyone already knows it. The enforcement is ridiculous because entire sports are built around them; if the DEA actually enforced this, there would be no bodybuilding competitions (literally everyone in those is on steroids, not even a question), but, by being illegal, it forces athletes (and young amateurs) to do things in shady and less safe ways.
I think people probably use them too early, before they've maximized their natural potential. Or they use them and don't work out enough to have any (positive) effect.
Basically:
Steroid users with results are not lazy because the effect causes more rapid recovery, hence allowing more frequent lifting = the opposite of lazy. However, "I'm 190+ lb, bulky, super lean, and natural" is dishonest, which is where most of the hatred comes from IMO.

people at the gym are easily offended for sure. fragile egos and what have you, you know the deal. it kind of hurts when you have a hard diet and gym regimen and these kids just hop on a cycle and skyrocket way beyond what you're ever capable of achieving with less effort. honestly i think within bodybuilding there's been a lot more understanding and acceptance of transparent steriod use lately. for endurance sport it's absolutely still taboo though, and it's absolutely a transparency and fairness issue.

Are you saying that with the younger ones it's "Everybody's doing it, and who cares?"

Not exactly, it's more like, people are more accepting of the steroid users that admit "yes I'm on steroids and have an unfair advantage over everyone else". But people absolutely clamp down on obvious users that just deny deny deny their use of drugs.

I know a few guys that take steroids. Two of them eat pretty decent and the other one eats whatever he wants. These guys do not refer to it as steroids though, they get mad if you call it that. It is just Tes (testosterone).

Always wanted to try steroids but I think you need to actually work out for them to have any effect. They would just make me fatter probably.

Yikes, just googled.
Apparently, the exogenous Testosterone causes the body to halt local production which leads to the atrophy. This can also lead to infertility.
High level of prolonged use leads to irreversible damage.
This seems like the exact opposite of the intended outcome of the ordeal.
But, same with Pizzas, a person can get a heart attack, stroke out, or black out crash while driving from diabetes.

The thing is that steroids aren't even an unfair advantage in bodybuilding; they are necessary for the sport. Those bodies are *impossible* to achieve without them because the body's hormones limit muscle growth after a certain point (from a survivability perspective, it's just a waste of resources to keep building muscle forever). The body also loses both fat and muscle when losing weight, which is why it's hard to maintain significant muscle mass when getting lean naturally. Natural bodybuilders look more like Bruce Lee (~165 lb) than Arnold Schwarzenegger (~245 lb).

It's a male pageant. The criteria are too blurry, simplistic and wrong.
Mr. Olympia should be graded on Muscles, C++/Java, Musical ability and Archery.
