Title: Hi from Northern California!
Post by: Purslxw on Mon, 01 June 2020, 20:26:44
Hey all!

I've been interested in the Mechanical Keyboard community for about a year now and I am finally starting my first build. The build will be a 65% Acrylic TOFU from KBDfans with a KBD67rev2 pcb, brass plate, GMK screw-in stabs and Gateron black inks both lubed with Krytox 205g0. I've always loved the sound of mechanical keyboards and decided to take more of an interest in the hobby as I began moving away from retail mechanical keyboards. I attended KeyCon San Jose 2019 and loved the atmosphere of the community and the creativity of the members! I can't wait to get more involved in everything this hobby has to offer!  :D

Hi Purslxw. Welcome to Geekhack.

You obviously did some research before you ordered all of those parts, it sounds like something well-thought out for layout and sound. I imagine you have a similar impulse as me in that you must have dedicated arrow keys. I hope the black inks aren't too stiff for you. I have yet to try any of the ink switches, but if I ever wander off into linears very far, I imagine that they'll be near the top of my list to try. Clicky guy myself.

I haven't even been to a meetup. That really needs to change.
