Title: Hello from Germany
Post by: lilotus on Wed, 10 June 2020, 11:05:51
Hello,
my name is Victor aka. lilotus or m4ntr. I am 15 years old and come from Germany. I love doing anything custom, but have never built a custom keyboard.
My hobbies are Motocross, gaming and sleeping. I would love to learn how to build a custom keyboard.

Hi Victor. Welcome to Geekhack.

15 is pretty early to be getting this deep into keyboards, and I find that to be a good thing. There seem to be plenty of people from Germany here, including some who have been designing their own boards.

I believe that the Heavy Metal Keyboards (https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=106072.0) are a German project.

What games have you been playing? I'm addicted to Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord myself.

What switches have you tried? Which do you like?

Nice. I have played Siege. I prefer the older Rainbow Six games myself. CSGO I need to probably try, eventually. I have moved away from the FPS genre though, for the most part.

I don't think that I have tried Razer Greens myself. I find it interesting that both Kaihua and Greetech make them, since Kaihua's (Kailh) switches seem to me to always be relatively well-made and smooth. The Greetechs I tried in a switch tester were not appealing, to say the least. I wonder if Razer enforces their own standards though, for consistency.

I thought so too. I ordered a few variants of them myself, and I don't usually do the whole group buy thing.
