Been lurking awhile and figured that it was time to officially join. I gravitate towards small keyboards and lately I've been interested in switch modding and DIY cases (acrylic and 3D printing). I don't have a lot of experience creating 3D models from scratch, so I mostly scour the Internet looking for things others have created and openly released.
My current roster of little keyboards includes a Minivan, MechMini, an un-built Shark, Plaid, Preonic, and the absurd Little Foot.

Hi derFunkatron. Welcome to Geekhack.
I lurked for years myself.
I know I have seen people who design 3D-printed cases around. I can't recall their usernames though, unfortunately.
What switches have you tried? Which do you like? What sort of mods have you been doing?

Thanks for the welcome!
I prefer tactile switches, but I did try out some Alpacas that made me briefly re-examine my entire mechanical keyboard philosophy...
My original favorite was the T1, but I've tried a bunch of others including Zealios and Holy Pandas. As for mods I've mostly been doing lubing and stem/spring swapping.

I haven't tried Zealios or Holy Pandas myself (I have heard good things), but I think some of my favorite modern tactiles, of those I have tried, are 55g Topre in my Realforce 87u. I'm a clicky guy, so I'm in no rush to try all of the fancy boutique switches, although I should.
There are definitely some really nice linears out there to play with. I'm thinking of populating a whole board with some Matias quiet linears myself to play with.

Tell me more about this alpaca switch. Something that makes you reevaluate your whole philosophy sounds like something I ought to try.
