Tp4 haz determined the source of recent bouts of hiccup.
It were MSG.
Tp4 recently got this special-soy-sauce, which has 3 diff types of flavor enhancers <including msg>.
Been dosing 2 HIGH.
Has NE1 else xperienced this phenomenon ??

No, the only time I get hiccups anymore is when I eat something extremely spicy; although, I haven't had it happen in a long time despite adding ghost pepper hot sauce to my salsa nearly every day.
I used to be able to cure hiccups within one hiccup every time by taking a huge breath and then bearing down while holding it for about thirty seconds, but that stopped working after a couple years. You may try that for fun after sipping some soy sauce.

Same here, only after extremely spicy food. That's how I can measure something is actually spicy or not.
Also weirdly the breath holding trick which used to work 100% totally stopped working for me as I grew older, I wonder of there's something biological about that.

you sure it is not the sodium chloride or the dihydrogen monoxide? some senators in the US thinks it should be banned it is that dangerous, and it is present in everything you eat or drink.

Hiccups most often come with acid reflux for me.
Holding my breath for anything over 20 seconds still works, turning 30 this year.
Maybe we should do a survey on the efffectiveness of the breath holding method and people’s age

I also have hiccups when eating very spicy food.
WHat is with spicy food anyway?
Why do we eat it? Is it even healthy?

Most articles claiming spicy food = healthy seem industry funded, like blueberries.
