Hello,
I love looking at all the Interest Checks for keycaps and I wanted to see if anyone in the community could direct me in what software (and any tutorials) that people use to design their key cap sets? I enjoy mapping out color schemes in my head and would like to try my hand at designing some sets. Who know maybe I will some day have some interest checks out there ;)
Thank you,
Tahd

Lots of people start with this: http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/ for basic layouts or you can jump straight into Illustrator/Inkscape for more control. For 3D renders most folk use Blender if they're coming at it from a hobbyist perspective and those who come from a CG background might use C4D or 3ds Max or whatever they're used to :)
Personally I skip the keyboard layout editor and jump straight into Illustrator and C4D but I have a CG background.

I use SideEffects Houdini to create layouts and make CG renders:
