Title: Somewhat randomly key repeating
Post by: i3d on Mon, 06 July 2020, 14:40:24
I am new to MK world and just got my first MK (RK71 brown) for about 3 days. I am still getting used to it but I noticed a somewhat annoying issue. Every now and then, somewhat randomly, I will get a key repeating itself when hitting it. I started pay attention to it and see if it's me maybe pressing any certain key a bit too long? But it doesn't appear to be the case.

So, is this typically when adopting MK? (e.g. Once I get used to it I wouldn't see this happening?) Or is this indicating some sort of issue with this MK? Or maybe there is some setting I need to tune to make this MK not behaving like this?

FYI, I am a long term Mac laptop user (most time on the hated butterfly keyboard) and this has not happened before.

Double presses I believe are usually when the software delay for switch debouncing is too short. Unfortunately I am not familiar with that specific keyboard. If it runs software that allows you to change the debounce delay, I would try that first. If that isn’t possible, it may be only an issue with a few keys. See if it seems to happen to specific keys, try replacing the switches in those keys (or swap the switches around if you don’t yet have replacements). Sorry I can’t be more helpful, maybe someone more qualified will comment. Since it looks like a brand name keyboard, it might be best to just contact the seller or manufacturer.

hit the key couple thousand times,  if it still happens, exchange/return it.

I see. Thanks for the tips. Since I've started to pay attention to which keys can accidentally repeating, I kinda felt that it's almost everywhere, doesn't like any very specific keys. Pyk_@'s suggestion seems reasonable, I also felt that it seems related to the sensitivity of the OS detecting the key press. I will try dig into that and see what I can find. I am using Mac and I vague remember there is some sort of setting that can adjust the speed of pressing.

Thank both of you guys!
