i am like paradoxically uneasy with stuff like lastpass, b/c then im like what if THEY get hacked. and unfortunately, 2fa isn't popular yet. but you're right, that's the best we have at this time

Fair point.

If you're reasonably paranoid, 2FA hardware keys like Yubikey work with the major password managers.
