Yes please, let's go!
And snälla/please include Nordic letters

Hi this looks really cool! Are there any sound tests with linear switches and sample photos of the Natural Gray anodized color option?
-
Wow these look awesome! Never really considered metal caps but am already imagining some sick builds these could make— Great work!

Sound tests here: https://metalkeyboards.no/our-caps.html (https://metalkeyboards.no/our-caps.html)
Btw all the pictures on the site are real photos of physical items, no 3d renders.
I don't have any actual caps in gray just yet... but we have done marking tests on some color sample pieces.
However the surface finish of the color samples are pretty bad compared to the beautiful smooth finish we get on the caps.
But i think you get the general idea.

Is there anywhere we can see a top-down photo of the full kit and all the keys that it will come with?
-
Look forward to some sound tests with lubed/filmed linear switches.

Where have you been all my life! And here I was, looking to get a cheapo 3 axis mill, and learn how to do what you've already done!
So, bit of an out there question, but any glimmer of a chance for a BIG-ass enter?
-
This looks amazing! Could we here a full typing test with the linear switches? In the video you have, you can’t hear the spacebar and I would love to know how that sounds especially before purchasing.
-
This is interesting... Curious to see a complete sound test with linear switches.
-
This sounds fascinating. Is there a limit for orders or an end date, or is it indefinite?
-
These look great! I’m not wild about the typeface though: for single letters it looks good, but for the legends with a word like Alt or Control the use of a monospace typeface makes it look less natural. What is the typeface you e used? Are there any similar non-mono typefaces that might work as an alternative (it looks a little like DIN so maybe something like that?)

You might want to look into offering a few extra keys to cover some popular 60% layouts in the community (in decreasing order of popularity: HHKB, WKL, stepped Caps). Standard Poker layouts aren't that popular anymore, and a lot of people will be left with missing keys with just a bare-bones kit like this. Which means that fewer people are likely to buy the set in the first place.

A few 65% variations and a few other sets coming in a few days.
HHKB may be one of those other sizes.

Hej!
What about ortho? Should be easy enough! Would love to be able to combine ortho with Nordic!

Second the HHKB Layout, more specifically the split backspace and the |\ key being backspace.

Glad to hear that. 65% support was going to be the next thing I suggest :)

Well that seals it for me, with 65% I'm definitely in!
Will this be a once off group buy or are you keeping constant stock?
-
Definitely in for at least one TKL set when available. Any plans on doing different profiles, materials, or colors?
-
Other than the slight spring ping I can hear in the typing test these sound great. Would love to get a rough estimate on the pricing of 60% or 65% set. Looking forward to more info in the future.

That's interesting!
I would love to have a UK ISO layout. <3
Would also be happy with a TKL set.

Mind you this was done on a uber rattly poker with bone dry switches...
Main reason for doing first public tests on a noisy pok3r is simply to give an accurate feel for how it sounds on a HALF decent keyboard without 100 hours of lube and other mods.
On clicky switches some of the caps with larger cavities may resonate depending on the switch and dampening factor of the rest of the keyb assembly.
You may have noticed that the lightly dampened spacebar with its huge cavity, does not "ping" at all.
Mind you, the space bar is riding on an unmodified blue cherry, and operating exactly like you'd expect a spacebar to operate.
I could write a book on sympathetic resonance in keyboard assemblies... but I think i should spend that time on making caps.

TKL sets being added to the site in a few days max....
https://metalkeyboards.no/ (https://metalkeyboards.no/)
More colors and profiles will be available at a later date, have our hands full with the various form factors and layouts as its is.
As far as materials goes... For full sets intended for daily use... Aluminum is the only practical option.
You'd want something that actually functions as expected.
Titanium and what not are fine for an odd novelty cap but for a full set its rather impractical.

In order to hopefully reduce complexity when it comes to offering different layout options:
Consider offering split backspace as an add-on option that is purchased separately and can be used alongside any of your current offerings. This add-on would include:
• one R2 1.5u Backspace
• one R1 1u \|
• one R1 1u `~ or Any
The same could be done for tsangan/WKL bottom rows. Such an add-on would include:
• one R4 7u spacebar
• two R4 1.5u Ctrl
• two R4 1.5u Alt
• two R4 1u Sys or Super or anything else generic
This is applicable to 60%, 65% as well as TKL. You get my point.
I would also seriously consider including R4 1.75u Shift and R4 1u Fn with all 60% kits (alongside the regular 2.75u Shift), regardless of legend choice.
Edit: Meta isn't a great choice for an OS key legend since Meta is used to mean Alt in some contexts (e.g. Emacs). System/Sys or Super would be preferable.

I appreciate what you’re saying, but I don’t think your target audience is people buying MX Browns and not lubing their switches. At that price point, the people that will be interested is mostly high end enthusiasts. I personally feel uncertain about buying a set, because there is no sound test on lubed switches, and the only example with a spacebar is on a clicky switch.
-
hoping to see the pictures of the one in grey and also perhaps having numpad sold seperately in case i wanted to have a 65% ansi set but might want to add a matching numpad.
does all the sets have front engraved and filled legends for things like vol+ etc? or that is like and addon?
-
Could you do blanks? Would there be a discount? EDIT: I see on the site that blanks are an option, cool. Are they not on sale yet, or are they already sold out? EDIT2: Sorry, I'm an idiot. Will order once TKL is available!
-
ne linear sound test avail?
-
What keyboard has 2 2.75u spacebars? I cannot recall a production 70% ISO board that looks like the kit you are offering.
I am personally interested in a ANSI TKL set, with the potential add on kits of:
1.75u stepped caps lock (none of my custom builds use the centered caps lock)
WKL (winkeyless) kit (2x 1.5u Control, 2x 1.5u Alt, 2x 1u Windows/System key, 1x 7u spacebar) (my builds are all WKL)
2.25u spacebar
2.75u spacebar
Looking forward to see how this progresses!
-
You'll definitely need the highly-popular GMK Cherry Profile in your next run. I'm sure these will sell a TON.
-
I would LOVE to have the one with the element as an esc key!
-
I wonder if an Ortholinear one for the Planck will be offered :D
-
Really interested in grabbing a set of the 65% caps. Money's a little tight at the moment though. Will these be a continuously available item, or is this a limited run?
-
Any novelties? I would really like that Al (Aluminum) cap for ESC.
Another vote for TKL. SA would be cool.
-
Seems like you are avoiding doing a linear sound test for some reason. Please be transparent to us.

Waiting for the TKL version. 6.25u & 7u spacebar variant.
It would be great if there could be a C70 (with the offset caps lock) set as well. Will be a great opportunity to make me take that keyboard out again.

Watching this topic with great interest. A few options your team may want to heavily consider:
-Keys to support 80% WKL
-Keys to support 80% TKL
-Keys to support 100% or full-size layout
-Typing test on linear switches, NovelKeys Cream switches for example.
If these items pan out, I'm almost certain I'm buying a set.
-
Any progress on the configurator?

So... we've been selling these for quite a while now on our site https://metalkeyboards.no/ (https://metalkeyboards.no/)
Current kit selection covering most common layouts and a bunch of weird ones.
The site is kind of spartan (at best) but it works well enough for taking orders.
Our discord is certainly best place to find fresh customer photos and videos... and you'll actually get to talk to a bunch of people that are already using the caps.
So if you're interested or just curious...
