Title: Gundam Keycaps?

I have been searching something along the lines of Gundam (RX78) keycaps or following the particular style.

I see Zaku style but not really anything for Gundam in particular.

If anyone has some suggestions or a keycap set that fits the theme, please let me know!

Post by: TheAutoManCan on Sun, 26 July 2020, 14:32:10: Gundam is tricky because the parade colors of the the RX-78-2 don't translate easily into a nice looking keycap set. There once was an officially licensed set that made it to group buy (I don't think it looked very good), but it unfortunately ended up turning into a dead project and most buyers lost their money. Because of that I don't think we'll be seeing another Gundam-themed set anytime soon.

You could try to mix and match different sets to build your own themed set, but that can become costly quickly. Personally, I got a few Gundam artisans and called it a day.

I believe spending $100+ per keycap is a bit excessive. Might have to go with GMK Red Devil and do a Char Zaku themed one.

Definitely just might buy some artisan keycaps.

There were some different colored Gundam and Zaku artisans sold by Keyclack a few years ago. The Gundam series was called WK-001 and the Zaku series was called ZKW-II. If those interest you could try the aftermarket to see if anyone is willing to sell theirs, but I imagine they won't sell for cheap. Alternatively, there are a few vendors on Aliexpress that sell various Gundam artisans. I've even seen people take the heads of Gunpla models and rig them onto keycaps as DIY artisans.

The above Tai Hao set is the closest I can find. The blue is a bit dark fro the RX... And it's missing the chest yellow. But maybe you can get a yellow escape key.
